Groundhog Day

So ... did that little furry creature see his/her shadow?
Will we have winter for 6 more weeks?
(Not sure of the outcome because I'm typing this a few days earlier than Feb. 2nd.)

Well either way, an early or late spring, we've got an adorable project to share with you today
created by one of our designers,

Fleur Smith.

Groundhog Day Puppet

My son loves using my paper crafting supplies to make cards and puppets.  He wanted to make a Groundhog Day puppet so we went on Pinterest and found this really cute idea.  To make this project start by covering a Styrofoam cup with patterned paper.  I used several different colors of green paper and made a grass fringe on the last piece.

Then find a groundhog picture and use paper to piece together the image.  Once the groundhog is finished add him to a wooden stick, I used a skewer.   We also added a googly eye for some fun.

To make the puppet interactive make a hole in the bottom of the cup big enough for the wooden stick and then make the groundhog pop up and hide back in his hole.

Here's some pictures of Fleur's son demonstrating the puppet. Look at that smile! Looks like fun!

Supplies:
Patterned Paper – Imaginisce Autumn Splendor/Childhood Memories/Good Dog
Styrofoam Cup and skewer – Dollar Store
Pen – Sharpie
Googly Eyes – Michaels
Twine – Jillibean Soup

Thanks so much Fleur. This is so adorable and a super craft to do with children!
