Click it with Cricut - Spotlight on Spring & Mother's Day!

A mother is a person who
seeing there are only four pieces of pie
for five people,
promptly announces she never did care for pie.
~ Tenneva Jordan

Mother's day is almost upon us and we are well under way with Spring athough someone should remind the weather man. Today we have design team members Sophia and Erin who will be focusing on both Mother's Day and Spring using the Imaginisce Garden Party collection and a variety of Cricut Cartridges to show just how versatile these two companies can be when combined on the one project.

Hi everyone, this is Sophia and I have the pleasure of showing you a little project I created for my Mom for Mother's Day. I wanted to keep it simple and easy, but yet effective and appealing to the eye. My project is an off-the-page decorated wooden tea-towel holder for her kitchen.

Steps to create off-the-page project:
Added background paper to fill in the gap in the wooden block as per image below.

  • Then I cut a piece of cardstock slightly smaller than the background green paper and used my corner rounder on the edges. Then, cut my letters to spell Mom using (Cindy Loo) cartridge.
  • M - as per page 64 < Bird > on size 4 inches.
  • O - as per page 46 < Vine1 > on size 4 inches.
  • Added some I-rocks to give more impact on the letters MOM, adhered that to the centre of the green pattern paper.

Then I added some Roly Rosies, tiny flowers and some leaves to finish it off. You can see some close ups below.

I also created a sweet and simple card with a matching envelope to go with it.

Steps to create card and envelope:

  • Cut 1 x Card Shape as per page 39 < Lamp1 > on size 4 inches (Sentimentals)
  • Cut 1 x Envelope as per page 39 < Lamp1 > on size 4 inches (Sentimentals)
  • I inked around the edges of the card with brown liquid chalk
  • Added a pop dot behind the heart cut form the envelope, to give a 3D effect on the card
  • Cut 1 x Shadow swirl design as per page 47 < Vine2 > on size 2 inches (Cindy Loo)
  • Cut 1 x Swirl design as per page 47 < Vine2-s > on size 2 inches (Cindy Loo)
  • Glued the smaller swirl onto the shadow swirl and added some I-Rocks for dimension
  • I stitched around the heart on the envelope, just to finish it off with a nice soft touch.
  • Added some alphas on the card and envelope to spell out Mom

Supplies used:
Cricut Cartridge Shapes - Sentimentals
Cricut Cartridge - Cindy Loo
Imaginisce Garden Party Paper Ranges
I-Rock Bling & Tear shape
Embroidery Cotton
Roly Rosies
Cream Cardstock

Thanks for joining me and I hope you enjoyed my project...♥

---------

Hi everyone, it's me, Erin Bassett here now sharing with you how I used my Cricut, Gypsy, the "Paper Lace" cartridge, and some of our awesome Imaginisce products from the Garden Party collection to create this simple home decor piece for Spring.

  • I picked up an inexpensive 5" x 7" frame and took my d-stress tool to the edges of it to distress it a bit and allow the natural wood to poke through.
  • I then used my Gypsy, the "Paper Lace" Cricut cartridge, and the pink "Wildflowers" paper from our Garden Party collection to create the background. I cut < Mod1 > + Lace 2 at 7" x 5" and then placed it in the frame under the glass.
  • Next I cut a piece of white Bazzill Swiss Dot cardstock to 5" x 7" and placed it in the frame and then replaced the easel on the back of the frame.

To create the butterfly:
  • I took a piece of blue cardstock an cut < Flower6 > + Lace 2 Shadow at 5.01" x 3.05".
  • Then on a piece of Blossoms of Blue I cut out < Flower6 >; + Lace 2 at 4.88" x 3.06".
  • Then on a piece of Rows of Posies I cut out < Flower6 > + Lace 2 Shadow at 4.75" x 2.98" and stamped on it with the Flower Cluster stamp and my favorite chalk ink: Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalk Ink in "Tahiti".
  • I inked the edges of the Blossoms of Blue die cut with the same ink and then glued the patterned paper die cut pieces together. I mounted it onto the cardstock die cut piece with foam adhesive.
  • I then added a few silver Rhinestud Hot Rocks with my i-rock.
  • Lastly I took the spring banner off of the Johnny Jump Ups sticker stackers sheet and popped it up with foam adhesive on top of the butterfly. And lastly, I mounted the butterfly/banner stack onto the top of the glass.

Happy Spring!
