Well we've finally come to the close of our Snag 'Em Stamp intensive and we thought it might be nice to finish with a little tutorial by design team member Shemaine. So we will hand over to Shemaine for the rest of the post... don't forget we have one last give-away today!
Hi it's Shemaine with you today and I have put together a quick picture tutorial with some tips to help you stamp beyond black ink.
Many stampers don't own many colored ink pads because Copics are very popular for coloring in stamped images. I've been told by friends that they feel it would be too expensive to purchase colored inks because there are so many varieties of colors and you'd spend a fortune on all those ink pads. This is true but there are ink pads out there that are very affordable. The ones I using today can be found at most scrapbooking and crafts stores for only $1 and stamp nicely. Let's get stated!
Stamp your image using whatever shade of color ink you like. I stamped this on with Studio G's chalk ink in aqua blue.
Using the Quickie Glue pen trace the stamped image and sprinkle the glitter all over the image. I am loving Martha Stewart's Iridescent glitter kit. Not only are the colors fabulous but this glitter is made to show the image thru the glitter which accents your colored inked images beautifully!
Here's a closer look at the image with glitter. Pretty huh!
For even more fun, try stamping your images with more than one color ink.
Now just sprinkle your glitter again. I had yellow in the kit but no blue so just use clear
Now take your images and create some fun mini cards! These are 3 1/2 X 5 in size with some of our Geek is Chic collection, the lacey circles and circle dies from Spellbinders and some of my favorite baker's twine colors .
I hope you'll enjoy giving this technique a try with your favorite Snag Em' Stamps!

ReplyDeleteAlready a fan of Shemaine's - love her work - and now I am less frightened of glitter. I have a stockpile of all kinds of the shiny stuff, just never brave enuf to use it. Also a HUGE fan of SnagEm stamps - if I see one I don't have, I buy it, which works out great for my bestie, because she ends up with the duplicates when I can't remember what I bought !
