  2. Oh wow, so many great ideas today!!! I need to make a few of those before Christmas!!!! I think my most treasured ornaments would be all the fun macaroni angels, painted handprints etc. that my kids have all made at one time or another when they were little. I love them all, more than anything I could ever buy.

  3. When we were stationed in Panama all our glass ornaments were broken in the move. So got a kit where you paint wooden ornaments (both sides).Kids watched to see which ornament Mom finished. Kids were very young at that time. Those ornaments 30+ years old still hang on our tree. They have become the treasured ornaments at our house with lots of memories with them.

  14. So much inspiration today...so little time before Christmas!
I have these candles that look like simple, plain ball ornaments. They are so ordinary looking but put up on the book cases with foliage, they help make the living room look decorated.

  26. Each year my daughter and I pick out a new ornament for the tree to replace any that may have gotten broken from the previous year. There is always a reason we pick that particular ornament each year so each of these special hand-picked ornaments are my most treasured.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I don't have many. My tree is full of cheap ornaments that I don't mind if they break. I packed up anything breakable when my first baby was 1 and he's 9 and they're still packed up. Someday, those will get to come back out but for now (and I'm sure always!), my most treasured, like most moms, are the ones my kids have made me at school!

  41. We're still working on treasured items. Right now it's mostly about having the house decorated. I don't have hand me downs from my parents with stories...but I definitely can't wait for my son to start making decorations for us at school (years away, though). This year, I made the Silhouette America Advent Calendar and that is our first step in a tradition we hope to build on in the future. So far, that's my favorite addition and hope to enjoy it for MANY years.

  48. My mother had gotten the four of us each a special ornament when we were very little. Over 50 years ago. I still have mine and one of my sisters. They are very fragile and I don't even put them on the tree for fear of breaking them more. I guess it's the sentimental aspect of them that I like.
