Sadly, today is our final day of the i-Magicut Intensive.
But we hope that you've enjoyed the projects that our Design Team has been sharing with you this past week and that you've learned many ways in which to use the fabulous tool.
And even though it's our last day we still have lots of inspiration and stunning projects to share with you today. So let's get started.
Rebecca Keppel
"I started by just cutting a bunch of different strips of ribbon. I cut them at different angles and some straight across. I love all the different looks you can get by lining the ribbon up on different angles and how the grid inside the i Magicut helps keep the cut straight. I was just trying it out, but then I figured all those strips of ribbon would add lots of color and texture to a layout, so I tied some in knots others in bows and adhered some straight on squares of Makin' Waves paper."

"I used grosgrain ribbons for my project. With grosgrain ribbons it takes about 8-10 seconds to make a complete cut with the Imagicut. When using a swiss dot ribbon, be sure to place the dots face down; this keeps the wire inside the Imagicut from getting gunky. I cut my ribbons in a dovetail fashion. Just fold your ribbon in half and place into the Imagicut at an angle; press for atleast 12-14 seconds (longer because you are cutting through two pieces). I also used a couple of the 'scrap' pieces of ribbon for the top portion of my layout!"
"We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and I've had the seashells in a drawer ever since we got back, waiting for the right thing to do with them. I thought it would be cute to create a scene with some sand, the shells and a few other tidbits of goodies like netting and some wire garland. The i-Magicut made my ribbon decoration so easy and fast!!! Love it for this sheer organza ribbon!!!"

Glue tape works great for me! The ribbon I use is almost always wider than my tape so I just line the back of the ribbon and stick it down.
ReplyDeleteI use glue dots or double sided tape!

ReplyDeleteI use X-Press It tape to adhere my ribbons and fray check on the ends but that can be very troublesome at times and would so love to get a i-Magicut. Maybe in time it will happen. :-)

More amazing projects today! I love the honeymoon bucket - what an awesome idea! I quite often just tie my ribbons on a card with a knot or bow, but if I need adhesive, my favorite is probably Scor-Tape or maybe Glossy Accents depending on the project! Thanks for the chance to win this amazing tool!

ReplyDeleteGreat projects. Thanks for sharing. I usually use my Xyron X to adhere my ribbon.
ReplyDeleteAmazing projects yet again - what an awesome team you have!! I use different ways to adhere my ribbon to my cards depending on what I'm doing. I use double-sided permanent tape when I want to ruffle/pleat ribbon across a card, PVA glue to attach bows when I have time to let it dry (glue dots when I don't) and a dry glue stick called Pritt Stick to help keep ribbon in place whilst I glue it to the reverse of my paper. Lots of different ways, lol!
ReplyDeleteAmazing creations! I use Aleene's Tacky craft glue or foam squares.
