Mothers of Angels

I have been so excited to share with you a story about a group of amazing mothers and how they have impacted me. It started almost 7 years ago when my darling friend Marcie (who I met scrapbooking) was faced with something that no mother would ever hope or imagine could happen to them-- her 15 year old son Zachary passed away unexpectedly. From a distance I could only imagine her own struggle and how she would cope with her loss.

Marcie's story eventually led her to return to her scrapbooking. She had wanted to do something to get her feelings out and to help her remember the good times she had with her son Zach. Through scrapbooking she found the therapy amazing and what she'd needed.

But then an even more amazing chapter in her story began. Marcie decided if scrapbooking helped her so much, that maybe she could help others in the same situation. So Marcie started "Mothers of Angels" scrapbook group.
Marcie had talked to her local scrapbook store, Pebbles and asked them if she could leave a donation trunk for fellow scrapbookers to leave their unwanted scrapbook supplies for her newly formed group. She had hoped that mothers could come together and support one another through their grief, and to not worry about the expense of purchasing their supplies and figuring out how to even start (since many of the mothers that joined her group had never scrapbooked). Now the Mothers of Angels group meets regularly now in St. George, Utah. They scrapbook memories of their children, love and support one another.

We had asked Marcie and her group to share what this group is about and they were kind enough to supply us with this video to share.

Here at Imaginisce our Mission Statement says, "Helping people remember, focus on, and celebrate what matters most." We believe to our core that scrapbooking is not just about buying, collecting and storing a lot of scrapbook supplies. Scrapbooking is all about "remembering AND celebrating what matters most." The example of the Mothers of Angels group is in line with what Imaginisce hopes to be in this amazing industry and we praise these brave women for allowing us to be a part of there story. Thank you!

If you would like to know more about Mothers of Angels and more of the stories of these brave mothers, please visit their blog. They would be more then happy to help get a group started in your own area as well. And most importantly, if you find you have some unwanted scrapbook supplies sitting around that need a good home we would encourage you to consider shipping a box (or two) to Imaginisce's office. If you're in the St. George area, please drop off your donations to Pebbles...please click here to find drop off location details.

Marcie's story and the stories of all of the ladies in Marcie's Mothers of Angles group are ones of inspiration to me. I hope that they inspire you as well. On this Mothers Day I think of Marcie and what a beautiful example she has always been to me. I thank her for her willingness to share her story with our Imaginisce followers.

Please visit the Mothers of Angels blog for more information.

I am typing thru tears because unfortnuately I can relate to this group and can be a part in it. I lost my only two children in a car accident 3 years ago at the ages of 3 & 5. It was (and is) a very hard and devastating journey to travel. I turned to scrapbooking as well to memoralize my children. I have also done things for charity and with only about 4 items I have riased about $600 for St. Jude's & Make a Wish Foundation. I am off to visit their site now.
