10 Things You Didn't Know About Aphra

1. Even though I have a pretty thick Southern accent when I'm at home, I start to talk like the people I'm around when I travel.

2. After making a "C" in penmanship in 5th grade, I imitated my friends' handwriting until I finally discovered my own style during my freshman year in college when a professor commented on my lovely cursive.

3. My first job was at Chuck E. Cheese, where I had to dress up in the rat costume every Saturday for the kids' birthday parties. After a long, hot, sweaty day in the suit, I would growl at kids who pulled my tail.

4. I was born on John Lennon's birthday, an entire five days after my due date. My mother swears that even though she chased the Beatles all the way to England, she was completely unaware that my due date was so close to her favorite pop star's birthday.

5. Two things I cannot live without: Diet Coke and my I-Phone. Though I have discovered that is not always a good combination.

6. My best friend and I placed second in a lip synch contest our sophomore year in high school, her as Olivia Newton John and me as John Travolta.

7. I changed my major to Forestry my junior year of college so that I could go to school with my boyfriend. After we broke up, I switched right back to English.

8. I love to sing karaoke even though I cannot carry a tune and got asked to ring the bells in the chilren's choir at church.

9. My favorite outfit is a pair of blue jeans, my LSU hoodie, and my New Balance tennis shoes. Now if I could just convince my boss that it's appropriate attire for the office, I'll be all set.

10. I got my first gray hair in graduate school at the age of 21 and now I am about 90% gray. However, I refuse to quit coloring and high lighting my hair until my youngest is at least in grade school.
