Wrap it up!

Hey there, Imaginistas! It's Robyn here today with some ideas for using all those wonderful Imaginisce supplies in a new way.

I've always loved wrapping gifts. When I was a kid, I'd work tirelessly to make sure my corners were creased and my bows were just right, and that's really never changed.

But gift wrapping has changed a lot. There are a lot more options than there used to be, and you don't necessarily need a big, loopy bow to give your package a finished look. While you can always go out and buy a fancy gift bag or box, why not take a look in your scrappy stash for some unique wrapping ideas?

Here's a gift I wrapped with plain, kraft wrapping paper (you can buy it by the roll, or recycle a grocery bag):

I used some scraps from the Happy Camper collection and punched 1/2" circles, arranged them in the "swags" across the front of the package and adhered with glue dots. I finished it off with a die-cut and some letter stickers. Fun, easy and sure to stand out from the rest of the gifts at the party.

Next up, a girlier take on wrapping. This time I used a small cardboard box, and I created a "ribbon" out of paper strips from the Little Cutie collection to go around the outside. I only adhered the bottom of the strips together so the recipient can slide the ribbon right off without having to tear it apart. (Are you one of those people who never wants to tear the paper and carefully removes the tap at the seams? I admit it...I'm one of THOSE.)

I added die-cuts on each outer panel of the box. And in place of a bow, I used a Pop-Up Posie (again...glued only to the paper ribbon so it all comes off in one piece).

See the center of the posie? It's an i-Top brad with a monogram "A" -- since this gift will be for my daughter, Avery. I punched the letter from the Baby Doll paper and turned it into an i-Top brad to top the posie with a personalized touch.

Looking for a unique way to give a gift card? I like to stash them in a pillowbox. I cut this one using a die from Lifestyle Crafts, but you can find plenty of templates for them online (Google: "pillowbox template").

I used papers from the Berrylicious collection, along with a punched circle and a Lacy Circle from Spellbinders. I created a matching i-Top brad to hold the loop of elastic cord around the box. (Be sure to put the brad in place before you glue the sides of the pillowbox together. I learned that lesson the hard way.)

These are just a few ideas to get you started on your gift wrapping frenzy. And because it's always better to GIVE than to receive (well, almost always), I'm hosting a GIVEAWAY on my blog for you today. Leave a comment here at the Imaginisce blog, then hop over and leave a comment on my blog, and I'll choose a winner to receive an Imaginisce prize pack, including papers, embellishments and a package of Roly Rosies!

Be sure to leave a comment in both places (I'll be checking!) to be eligible.

Wrap on, my friends.
