I-Space with Keely

What does your craft space say about you? Is it streamlined, everything in it's place and labelled with colour coding, neat little boxes all in a row or perhaps it's full of bits and pieces that you find along the way, full of memories, full of inspiration and fun? No two craft spaces are the same, just as no two crafters are the same, it's what makes us unique, what makes a different from the next person. Today we have another i-space to share with you from our design team member Keely Yowler. And we are sure you are going to enjoy getting to know Keely a little better through her inspirational area full of wonderfully unique and quirky pieces and a sentimental story about 'that' table.

Hi! I'm Keely Yowler. One of my favorite magazines, is "Where Women Create" by Stampington & Company. I love to drool over the wonderful studios where amazing artists create. Someday, someday...I'll have a studio like that. For now...I'll be content with my corner of the basement. Today, I want to share with you what makes my studio special to me.

I love my studio table. When the kids had outgrown the wooden swing set my husband had built, he used the wood to build my table. Now, I have a wonderful keepsake built with love. I love to stand when I create, so this tall table allows me to move around.

I found this wonderful cabinet of drawers at an auction. I painted it to match my studio and store lots of embellishments inside.

Jars full of old jewelry, family photos, and a vintage bodice are some of my favorite accents.

This cabinet hold my beloved Cricut, my inspiration books, and some of my favorite projects.

My Copic markers, Big Shot, and bowls of buttons rest on the lovely crocheted tablecloth.

What are your favorite things in your scrap area? What inspires you to create? I'd love to know.

Your corner is amazing! I love how you have all your treasures all around you.
My little room is always a work in progress but I am so grateful to have a place of my own for creating. DH just recently built a glass top table for me and it's 36" high. I am like you it's easier to stand and work than get up and down all the time.
Thanks for sharing a peek into your room! :)

I love all the colour in my room...but I need it to be organized. Mess bothers me and I can't create.

Keely, your space is wonderful!!! You have so many wonderful vintage treasures all around you!!! I hear you on the standing up to scrap. Lately I have been bringing my stuff up and working at the kitchen island so I can spread out.

Keely, I love your space! Of all of the ones that have been shown so far, yours is the one I can relate with most! I have an old desk that my hubby bought for $25 to put in a job trailer at work, but I took it instead! LOL.... I have shelves and drawer units that I recycled from my oldest son's room from when he was a toddler, and I have lots of mis matched items...but all come together to make my space perfect for me! LOVE all your treasures!

How sweet is the story about your desk!!???!! Love it! I love it when a space is something meaningful to you and not just "store bought" and that chest of drawers - SO perfect for embellishments!!! THANK YOU for sharing!

I also love your desk! My scrap space is in the garage. We have storage shelves in one corner of the garage so my husband (who is very handy!) built me a little "room" under those. I now have a 6ft x 6ft x 6ft (give or take a few inches) cube in the garage. I have a countertop for a desk on one side and storage shelves from Ikea on the other. I also have shelves over my work space to hold my Cricut cartridge and Stampin Up stamps. My shelves have a lot of photo boxes that I can just shove things in. I'm more of a messy person so this makes my room appear neater than it is! :) My room isn't exactly what I dreamed of but its way better than a desk in the livingroom. My husband promises that when we buy a home he'll build me a room and I'll spend more time planning as it will be my room for a very long time!
