It's Never Too Early...

Hi Imaginisce Fans! It's Sam Hauzer here, with a little project to share with you all today. Now, I've had my Santa's Little Helper papers sitting out on my desk since I finished my dt projects. I was going to put them away, and then maybe make something with them when it was closer to Christmas, but then remembering the promise I made myself after last Christmas (about being more organised!), I decided to get a headstart on some little Christmas gifts. I know it's only August, but it's never too early to start getting organised!

So...I had a bit of a look around, and found this little old tin that used to hold chocolate powder...

Perfect! It's really small and cute, and I knew it would be perfect to hold a special little gift. Because it's only a small tin, all I needed to cover it was one piece of paper.

I always love the papers that have strips of different patterns, and this one was just what I needed to cover the tin. One 12 inch strip was just the right amount to go around the whole tin, so I needed one for around the bottom of the tin, a skinny strip for around the lid (which I ended up changing from the one in the pic!), and a circle that I cut from the reverse side of the paper.

I used Mod Podge to glue the paper onto the tin, and then coated the top of the papers with it too, so it is sealed and protected.

Looks pretty cute, right? If you're in a hurry, you could leave it just like this, but I wanted it to be a little bit fancier, so I attached a bit of pearl trim around the side of the tin (this was great for hiding the slightly rusty metal edge), and then I went around the top of the tin with Glossy Accents, and sprinkled Diamond Dust on top...

So then I thought it needed something on top, so I made a little satin flower, and made an I-top brad to go in the centre. And then I was happy...

And here it is, all finished and ready to go for Christmas...

Now, I think I'll be off to see if I can find some more old tins to decorate! I hope you enjoyed my post today. If you'd like to stop by MY BLOG, I have a nice little Imaginisce GIVEAWAY, just for you guys, but make sure you leave me a comment here first!
