60 Minute Madness!

It's Tuesday, the second day of the week and our second design team challenge and today we really set the bar high! We asked our designers to come up with a creation in 1 hour tops! Now for some of you that would seem almost impossible, who ever does anything in under an hour, right?

Well to our surprise, our designers surpassed our expectations and came up with some amazing projects that left us wondering whether the batteries in their clocks were working properly.

Lydia Jackson
'Thankful Layout'

A word from our designer Lydia:  'Here we go, my tip for quick scrapping is to keep it linear... Working with multiple straight lines for me is the easiest way to pull together a layout and is a great way to use up scraps.

Lydia's products list: Imaginisce Happy Harvest collection, i-rock tool and hotrocks, Core'dinations cardstock and distress inks and Smootch by Clear Snap.

'Gratitude Tags and Holder'

A word from our designer Erin: Here's a great idea that is perfect for Thanksgiving, but can be used any time of year! Just take an 8.5" x 11" paper and score it at about 2” horizontally and in half vertically then fold it. Embellish as desired, I hand cut a heart and added some other fun things). Close up the holder and punch a hole through all the layers. Thread the ribbon though as shown in the photo and add a bit of adhesive in the center crease. Ink the tags and then print on them using the printable that's I have available on my blog which you will find HERE  (http://www.erinbassett.com/creativite/2011/10/18.html)

Erin's product list:
Patterned Paper & Die-cut Title - Imaginisce (Happy Harvest); Trim - Pink Paislee; Brad - American Crafts; Flowers (large) - Pink Paislee, (small) Maya Road; Ink - Quick Quotes Powder Puff; Shipping Tags

'Fall Memories Layout'

A word from our designer Marielle: Here's my 60 minute layout!!! I always find creating Imaginisce projects quick and simple because of all the beautiful die cut titles and embellishments that come with each collection. I find that I'm a much faster scrapper if I use a sketch to create my layouts. There's so many sketch blogs out there ,my favorite is Creative Scrappers :).

Marielle's product list:
All supplies are from the Happy Harvest collection. I've also used the new foam tape in brown, October Afternoon buttons, teal twine from the Twinery and a 2" scallop punch. I finished this layout by adding a touch of Glimmer Glaze in Fuzzy Coconut (Brown).

'Christmas Advent Calendar'

A word from our designer Aphra: I decided to alter this Kraft-colored paper mache advent box to help my sons countdown to Christmas. Each 2" by 2" drawer is covered with one of the festive patterns from our Santa's Little Helper line and embellished with the coordinating die cuts and tiny foam alphabet stickers. To top it off, I made an oversized paper bow. For details on how to create the bow, check out my blog - My Scrappy Life at aphradeedesigns.blogspot.com.

Aphra's product list:
Paper Mache Advent Box--Hobby Lobby; Patterned Paper and Die Cuts--Imaginisce Santa's Little Helper; Glut Dots--Zots; Liquid Adhesive--Tombow; Foam Alphabet Stickers--American Crafts Thickers.

So there you have it - four wonderful projects made by our very talented designers in under 1 hour!!!
If you are inspired to set the timer and scrap like a madwoman then we'd love to see what you create so don't forget to post a picture and a link on our facebook page and we'll be sure to stop by!
