Back to School - Day 5

Well you made it & you passed with flying colors!

We've come to Day 5 and our final day of our "Back to School" feature.

Have you gained some ideas on ways to create for your children & teachers? We hope that we've been able to jump start your creativity.

And don't worry ... we're not done! We still have some great ideas to share with you today so let's get started.

I always take a ton of photos the first day of school, including the usual pictures on the front porch to mark how much the kids have grown since the previous school year, pictures of them with their backpacks, and always a picture of them walking up to school. For my layout, I used one of the "walking up to school" pics that I enlarged.

Using my cricut die cutting machine, I cut out my title and backed it with a coordinating paper.

For the accent piece, I used the i-magicut Ribbon Cutter to cut and seal the end of the gray ribbon, then used my i-bond glue gun to adhere the ribbon to the paper. I love using the i-bond because it sticks instantly without having to wait for any drying time.

The number embellishment was made with my i-top brad maker, an extra large Brad Daddie, and a number sticker added to the top.

Hi there!
I made up some really easy pencil holders for Back to School...my daughter is

giving these to her BFFs :)

For the pocket: Using the Rotary Cutter, Acrylic Ruler and 14x14 mat, cut 2x12" strips from the double-sided cardstock; makes six strips. Next, cut 1.75" x 11.75" strips from the Chit Chat Paper; center and attach to cardstock. Score the 12" strip at 4.5" mark and fold in half. Machine stitch (or glue) the folded area to create the pocket. Corner round the edges (as shown) if desired.

For the apple: punch a 1" circle from the back side of the Wish Big paper. For the stem, cut a small piece of the brown candle from the front side of the Wish Big paper. Free hand cut (or use a leaf punch) to create the leaf from the Celebrate You paper. Layer onto the stamped Scallop Frame and adhere to the front of the pencil holder. Tie on ribbon.

Misc: Core'dinations Double-Sided Cardstock, Ribbon, computer generated journal strips, 1" circle punch and corner rounder punch.
