i-Challenge - Day 2

So are you having fun with the challenges?
We hope so.

We've got a couple more to share with you today.

Saturday Challenges:

Challenge #3: Color Challenge with Regina Mangum

Color challenges are one of my own personal favorites, so I was really excited to get to host my own for Imaginisce! To begin, I chose a bold color palette, which I thought would work well for two different projects: a card and a layout. I wanted colors that would be both complimentary and a little off the beaten path for Halloween and for Fall.

I created this Happy Fall card using papers from the Monster Mash collection - I just love when I can use one kind of collection for many different occasions! The "tree" is actually a die-cut leaf from the Ghoulish Delights pack. I added some of the wee Chopboard chipboard sticker leaves and penned in some breezy trails. I thought the addition of black in the color palette would make for an unusual color combination for an autumn card!

To scrap my son's Halloween photo, I again turned to Monster Mash. I love that the colors are not just the traditional orange and black. I let the Ghoulish Delights die-cuts work their magic and, for something a little different, wrote my journaling along the upper edges of the circles in the Tricks & Treats patterned paper.

I hope you will join me for this Color Challenge -- I can't wait to see what you create!

Challenge #4: Stitching Challenge with Rebecca Keppel

My challenge is a technique challenge--use stitching on a paper project. The stitching can be either by hand or by sewing machine or both. I chose to do both (a large hand drawn and then hand stitched heart and lots of bits of machine stitching throughout).

I employed three of my favorite uses for machine stitching on this layout.
  • The first is borders. There are straight lines stitched through the paper strips at the top and bottom of the layout. I think a straight stitched border adds definition similar to the way inked edges do.
  • The second is underlining a title.
  • And the third is punching multiple papers with the same punch, stacking them and stitching down the middle--just a fun look!
So get out the needle and thread for this challenge!

You can find the i-Challenge Rules HERE.
You have until Wed., Nov. 21st to get your challenges submitted.
