Scraplfiting Inspiration

Today Christine shows how you can use a layout and be inspired by certain elements to create a card. Also using a card design but just changing up the 'theme' or elements used while still keeping the design the same.

For my scraplifting I decided to do cards - one lifted from a layout and one lifted from a card.  I love pulling elements from layouts and translating them onto a card.  I used Cari's layout as my inspiration.  Here's her original:

And here's the card I came up with:

The thing that really caught my eye on Cari's layout was the diamond pattern created with bakers twine and gems.  I also liked how she did them to the right side of her picture/title/etc.  I think my first instinct would have been to do them underneath, I love that hers was different from my tendencies, so I ran with that.  Using hot rocks and twine I created my diamond pattern.

American Crafts: Ribbon, Cardstock, Foam Adhesive

I loved the way that Aimee broke her card into three parts and created a scene.  Check out her version:

I thought the "Welcome Spring" line would be perfect for creating a whimsical scene, especially some of the cute animals that it features!

I cut my grass on a curve to give it a hilly feel.  The snail is a cute die cut and the little bird is in one of the patterned papers, so I fussy cut her out!  A hand cut sun added to the sky helps with that spring feeling that we are all craving right now.
