What a fabulous idea! Great to give as a welcome back gift!
Dream Big Altered Chalkboard Room Decor
We always want to encourage children to "dream big", right? We ourselves should dream big also! It's Katrina and I am back again this week with this chalkboard that is super quick to alter and would be PEFECT for a teacher's room!
I picked up this easel chalkboard for around 7.00 at a local craft store on sale! When I was trying to figure out how to decorate it, I was thinking about how everyone wants their children to succeed in life. So that is where the phrase came into play. Then the hot air balloon idea just popped into my head and I knew the "Perfect Vacation" collection would be the collection that I was going to use to decorate with!
Now, I used my die cutting machine, but you could easily recreate this without one. The balloon is made up of 5 cut outs that are folded in half and then glued backside to backside to the next adjoining piece. So you could just handout 5 balloon shapes and do the same thing. Basket is done the same way, although I used foam adhesive to make the layers stand out more.
I used a phrase on the chalkboard, but you could always leave that off and the teacher could write the day of the week on there. Or that would be a perfect little job for the students each day!
And you cannot have a hot air balloon without clouds! I just combined pattern paper and cardstock, along with foam adhesive here.
That is all from me today. I hope you are getting some great back to school ideas from all of the Imaginisce DT this week!
Supplies:
Imaginisce: Pattern Paper, Die Cuts-Perfect Vacation Collection
American Crafts: Cardstock
Other: Adhesive, Wooden Chalkboard Easel.
