Parrrty Me Hearty Card Set

As we mentioned earlier this week, we've challenged a couple of our DT members to use their handwriting in their projects.

Check out this darling cards by Melissa.

Hi everyone
Melissa here and I am so excited to be sharing with you my first projects as part of the design team. While I love making layouts and all kinds of paper projects, my heart is in making cards. I just love coming up with designs on the smaller canvas and sharing them with others. I hope that what I am sharing with you today will inspire you to get creating your own!
Let’s get started! I am sharing two cards – masculine and feminine – using the Parrrty Me Hearty collection. Let me just say, this collection is so adorable! I picture making lots of fun party elements with this collection and today I’m going to give two fun birthday card ideas. Let’s start with the girly:

How cute is that mermaid? Let’s take a look at some close up details: first, we are incorporating handwriting into our projects this week and I wanted to use my handwriting for the sentiments. This might be intimidating for some but, I found it helpful to practice on a piece of scrap paper. Then, just go for it! This was simply made with a black pen I had in my stash. I love the look of script with a continuous line:

Next, all the elements from this collection make it so fun to add dimension. You really don’t need much else. For this card I popped up the mermaid, which is in the Die Cut Shapes and then used Puffy Stickers to add some fun elements.

Now, let’s move onto the masculine card. Once again, how cute is that pirate? I can’t stand it. For this cards sentiment, I used a blue brush marker to write the word ‘ahoy’. Again, I practiced a few times on a scratch piece of paper until I was happy with the script.

The word stickers from the sticker sheet help compliment the sentiment and I just love how those puffy stickers help to add some movement to the card.

Now, go grab your favorite pen and practice writing your own sentiments! The possibilities are endless and, the best part, you can customize it to your project. Fun, right? And make sure to grab some Parrrty Me Hearty collection. How can you not?
