Today, we're using the Snag 'Em Stamps from the Cottage Christmas collection and shrink plastic (yep, that's right -- the good ol' Shrinky Dinks we loved from childhood) to create a set of holiday wine tags!
Ready to have some fun?
First, stamp your images onto shrink plastic with permanent ink (I'm using Staz-on) and let it dry.
Color them in with colored pencils or art markers. I'm using the Tombow markers with the fine tip, and they work great!
Cut around the shapes, BUT...be sure to leave some room to punch a hole. I used my Crop-a-Dile on the larger hole setting to make sure the hole would be big enough after the "shrinkage." Then follow the directions in the shrink plastic packaging to bake them down to size.
Once they're tiny (and cool), attach two jump rings. I used a medium to go through the thickness of the shrinky-dink, then a smaller one linked onto that to thread onto the hoop.
Next you'll need some beads and some wire hoops (which you can find in the jewelry section of your favorite craft store -- the hoops are actually earrings, but they work perfectly for wine stems). The package I have is assorted sizes, but the size I'm using is about 1-1/4" inch in diameter. You could definitely go larger, but probably not any smaller. Thread a few beads onto the hoop, then put on the shrinky dink, then a few more beads.
If you want to mix it up a bit, you can add in a Snowflake Crystal in place of the shrinky dink. I used the two smallest crystals to extend the size of my set to six tags.
And you end up with a set that looks like this:
As you can see, I also altered a small tin to store them in. I just cut some scraps of the Cottage Christmas papers to size and used Mod-Podge to adhere them smoothly to the metal. Then I embellished with chipboard shapes and ribbon.
Add in a bottle of wine with a matching gift tag, and you have a perfect little gift set for a wine lover or the hostess-with-the-mostess!
Do I have an amazing giveaway for you today???? Oh YES, I certainly do! Today, we're giving away the entire Cottage Christmas collection PLUS a set of the Roly Rosies PLUS the petal roller tool! Now that is a gift that keeps on giving!

Tried to make these last night but was completely unsuccessful. Apparently I needed to use alcohol-based markers but I don't have any. So, either I purchase a new set of markers ($) or I just use the outlines of my stamps (I have 2 colours of Staz-On). I wish the description on the blog had clued me into the fact that the markers were alcohol-based! Cute project if you have the right tools!
