On the Ninth day of Christmas...

'Tis the silly Season!
And what better way to celebrate than with a comical little chocolate card!
It's Melinda with you today and I'm going to show you how to create a Christmas card for all your friends that love anything to do with MnM's. And to let you in on a little secret... MnM's are very much a favourite with the Imaginisce team, especially the Cherry flavoured variety!

Step 1.
Cut out a piece of white cardstock the size of your greeting card and cut a whole where you want your bauble dome to be. The whole needs to be the sames size as the plastic container (but not the outer rim) you are using to create your bauble. I found a packet of random charms in a local craft store that had the pefect size and shape packaging so you just need to keep an eye out when next shopping. Repeat the process with a piece of patterned paper, I used Swirly Snowflakes.

Step 2.
Position the sheet of card with the hole, over your greeting card front and using a paper piercing tool poke holes in your greeting card to form a cross. (You will need to have a cork board or something behind your cardstock when using your piercing tool). This little cross becomes the access point where the recipient of the card can poke their finger through to get at the chocolates.

Step 3.
Remove 1cm from the width and height of your patterned paper and 2cm from the width and height of your white piece of cardstock. Decorate your piece of white cardstock and add any ribbons, die-cuts, etc. before mounting onto your patterned paper. I have fussy-cut some baubles from the Cottage Christmas 'All That Glitters' patterned paper and mounted them using foam adhesive tape. The bauble strings are created using the paper piercing tool again.

Step 3.

Using a glue runner, place adhesive around the outer rim of your dome. Note carefully - this is NOT the flat side of the rim that is facing up in the picture below, it is the domed side of the rim. Fill your container with MnM's but not to the point of overflowing, allow a little bit of room so that your dome fits flush onto your card. Take a moment to nibble a few MnM's that excape from the packet!

Step 4.
Place adhesive tape onto the face of your white greeting card avoiding the pierced hole and the circle area so that no adhesive will sit underneath the dome and stick to your MnM's. Set aside.
Holding your decorated card faceplate with the decorated side facing down, place your dome into the hole and gently push the adhesive rim so that it adheres to the cardstock. Position your greeting card with the pierced cross over the hole and adhere to the decorated card. To complete the card, add a pretty bow to the top of the bauble.
