Paper Cupcake Tutorial with Imaginisce's B-Day Bash

We've been asked by so many of our fans how this cute paper cupcake was created. And before we retire our B-Day Bash Collection banner on our blog, we wanted to featuring one of my most requested projects to date. So finally we asked the talented designer to show us step-by-step how she created this. I personally can't wait to give this a try myself! Be sure to scroll to the bottom and find out how you can win everything you need to make these fun cupcakes at home!!

First the supplies you'll need:

·       4-  12 x ¾” Strips Brown Cardstock
(Core’dinations  Brown Sugar from Vintage Collection was used in sample)
·       1-  12 x 2 ½” Confetti Paper (dot side)
·       1- 7 ½ x 3/8” Hip Hip Hooray Paper word strip (brown side)
·       1- 3 x 3/8” Hip Hip Hooray Paper word strip (brown side)
·       Make a Wish Paper Candles
·       Glam Rocks - Metallic Pearl (gold was used in sample)
·       I-Rock Tool
·       Scoring tool or Stylis and Ruler
·       Glue Dots
·       Hot Glue Gun

UPDATE: We didn't realize the instructions and images for the first few steps were missing when this went live, below is the updated version!
Score lines 1/2” apart across Confetti Paper (dot side) strip.

Fold on scored marks to create corrugated strip.

Overlap ends and secure with strong adhesive to create cup cake bottom.
Gently pull Brown strips thru fingers to curl slightly and make them not so stiff.

Twist and curl first strip counter clockwise using glue dots to secure curls as you turn strip. Place glue dots on underside of curls so they can’t be seen.

Use glue dot to secure next strip and continue curling. Slightly press curls to get desired look.

Continue adding strips and curling to create at least 3 rows. You should make each row slightly larger than the one before.

Turn last curl and secure end with glue dot. Use glue dots where necessary to get desired shape.

Apply hot glue to secure “frosting” to cup cake bottom, spreading slightly so when word strip is added it will make bottom come in a little and give “cup cake like” look.

Insert candles into top where curls started and secure with hot glue.

Add gems as desired using the i-rock tool.

Fold 3” word strip as shown. Create circle with 7 ½” word strip and staple with folded piece as shown. Slide around bottom of cup cake and secure in place where desired with glue dots.

LET'S CELEBRATE (with free stuff)....
We have loved playing with the festive B-Day Bash Collection and appreciate all the great ideas we've seen around the web using this collection. And since today's post features a cupcake...I think we should talk cupcakes. What's your favorite cupcake (paper or real)?? We'll pick a lucky winner that will receive a set of the B-Day Bash Collection AND i-rock tool with Glam Rocks.

There is a new cupcake shop in our town named CakeArt. She makes a wonderfully delicious and decadant Oreo Cookie cupcake. It has a chocolate cupcake with cream cheese icing and broken oreos sprinkled on top with an oreo sticking out the top--too die for goodness in a paper wrapper.

Really, is there a cupcake to not like???? But if I had to pick one, it would be the chocolate cupcake that we make at home in our kitchen. That way we get to taste cooked cupcake and uncooked cupcake along with chocolate buttercream icing....all at the same time! Yum.
