Dino-Roar Wall Art

Have you been thinking about ways to decorate your child's room without breaking the bank? Is it sometimes tough to find just the right accents, in just the right size, at just the right price???  Well...there may be a solution!
As you can see, my son is obsessed with Dinosaurs at the moment and when I saw the Imaginisce Dino-Roar collection, I knew exactly what I was going to do with it to add some decor to his room.

I was also lucky enough to come across the amazing Cricut Dinosuar Tracks cartridge.  Together, these crafting materials are an unstoppable locomotion of creativity.  I had a blast making these two pieces of art for my son's bedroom.

You can use the layer and shadow features on your Cricut to bring a "flat" image to life.  I love the contrasting colors of the brown cardstock with the Imaginisce Primordial Ooze paper.  And, the Petrified Wood paper is the perfect compliment to these Prehistoric Pals.
Doesn't this T-Rex look fierce?  My son goes crazy for this one and thinks it is the coolest dinosaur.  He even sleeps with his little T-Rex toy at night.  Guess he must get a lot of comfort knowing he sleeps under the watch of this fierce creature.
I added a few gems with my i-rock to decorate these little guys and then I used an old font folder of rub-ons to add the name of each of the dinosaurs.  Attractive and educational... doesn't get much better than that!

Complete the look...
Find some novel items to add to your child's theme...
Add a dinosaur sheet set from Pottery Barn Kids.

Add a dinosaur library from authors Jane Yolen and Mark Teague from amazon.com.

Add some dinosaur critters from Schleich toys found at Target.

Voila - you have created a very personalized room theme for your special little one and you didn't even break the bank.  How's that for a good thing???

And...to make it even more of a good thing, just leave a comment about a home decor idea you have been cooking up and you might be the lucky winner of your very own collection of Dino-Roar!  We'll announce a winner early next week...

Thank you so much for stopping by - Liz

ADDED BONUS PROJECT (from Lori):
The awesome Brett Lund recently did a local television segment using the new Dino-Roar Collection and created a darling collage frame with it. We wanted to share the video and link you back the step-by-step instructions on the GTU website.

I am in the planning stages for some wall decor for my freshly painted scraproom. Thinking about some 12x12 or 8x8 wall hangings with different shapes cut from my Cricut definitely with some bling :) Also thought about maybe doing some sort of iTop art for my craft room! the walls are bare and I need something to jazz the space up.

I plan on creating vinyl wall-art for a baby's room once we start having kids...of course, the theme will depend on the gender of the child :) I do love the wall art you created with Dino-Roar though - very very cool!

That video was too funny! Glad you provided the link to the instructions!!!
Liz, I love what you did for your son's room, and all the added ideas for dino stuff. Might be the theme for my grandson's Christmas this year!
Interestingly, I also have been thinking of wall art...going to jazz up my laundry room for my first project! Then if I mess up, no one will see it!

OMGSH - those are awesome!! I just repainted and re-organized my scraproom and am going to be using vinyl with my cricut to do some words and sayings on the walls.
That Dino-Roar would be awesome to win - thanks for giving us the chance!

Your pictures were the perfect touch to the room. I made my DD and DS each a collage frame with my Cricut out of the Disney characters cartridges. My current home decor project is cutting vinyl with my Cricut for Christmas decor for my front windows.

Precious! It matches the bedset perfectly! Well, I'm working on a fabric covered bulletin board to fit into my wall collage in my dining area. There are so many beautiful pieces, a big gold letter "C" (for our last name), paisley plates, I just know it will go perfect. I'm simply waiting on my i-top to come in so I can complete my push pins!!!

Thanks for the chance to win this super fun cartridge.

I LOVE this idea! I made 3 framed bits of sealife on a painted ground a few months back from my Cricut "Its A Beach" cartridge for one of our bathrooms and they turned out so nice. I wish I'd thought to mat them with some beachy paper with a few "bubbles" from my i.Rock.

I've been comtemplating this for a few weeks - I was thinking of having my son paint on canvas (he's not quite 2, so it would be abstract) and using those as a bit of wall art - but he'd love the dinos! and it would be much easier! or I could have him 'paint' the background then use your idea for the foreground - thanks for the inspiration!

I was trying to come up with ideas on what to do to decorate his walls! LOVE LOVE LOVE these ideas! THANK YOU! I SO SOSOSSOSOSOSO need to get my hands on this lines! I was thinking about making a dry erase board for him too (out of an old frame) to use as a count down to different events.

We are about ready to move into our first house so I get to decorate my girls room. They have these fabulous bright colored quilts from their grandma with tons of multicolored polkadots. I'm going to paint their walls white with a big chain of polka dots in different colors all around the room.

Great room decor for your son. I know he must love this. I am trying to come up with some ideas for our room addition (if it ever gets finished). I want to do one wall with colors of Red, White and Blue to display items I received when I retired from Civil Service. I plan to use vinyl and the cricut for some lettering, and bookshelves for displays. Thanks for sharing.

I've been thinking of doing a collection of framed layouts for my living room. I found these super cool 13x13 display cases at Michaels that are meant to hold t-shirts, but a 12x12 layout will fit perfectly inside. I'm thinking 4 of those with some awesome Scriptures on them is what I'd like. ;)
