i-space with Robyn Schaub

I don't know about you, but whenever someone asks for a photo of my scraproom, my heart skips a beat. See, I'm a messy scrapper. It's not uncommon for me to have every work surface in my room covered in bits of paper, with piles of embellishments and every tool I own strewn around. My husband is used to finding a Thickers stuck to the shower drain...he doesn't even question it anymore.

So when the plans for the i-Space feature on the Imaginisce blog began, I had two different points of view. The optimist in me thought "Maybe this will be the push I need to clean up and reorganize my room." The pessimist thought "Oh boy...I'm in trouble now."

Fortunately, the optimist won out and I did clean up my room. Thank goodness for photos because no one in my family would ever believe it can look like this. Without further ado, let's take a tour of my temporarily clean space:

My scraproom used to be my daughters' nursery -- hence the pinstriped walls. My husband and I worked so hard to get those stripes painted that I can't bear to paint over them, so they've become part of my scraproom color scheme.

Another holdover from the nursery is this changing table/dresser that my dad built for us. It now works perfectly as my die-cutting and stamping station. I keep my Big Shot and my Slice in the cubbies and the Cricut stays out on the countertop, along with some of my most-used tools, like the i-bond, stapler, scissors and my heat embossing gun. All of my Quickutz alphabets are in the tins in the black cubbies. It's nice to have this counter space that's the perfect height for when I want to stand. (Unfortunately, it's also one of the first spaces to get covered up when I'm in a creating frenzy.)

In the drawers of this cabinet, I keep all my Cricut and Slice cartridges in one drawer.

Another drawer holds my Quickutz, Spellbinders and Papertrey Ink dies. I use the two bottom drawers for additional tool storage (including my i-top tool and accessories) and layouts that need to be filed into albums.

On the back wall, I use these decorative ledges to hold my small jars of ribbons and buttons. I sort everything by color, and my 7-year-old helps ensure I keep everything in "rainbow order."

I developed this twine storage by adapting an idea I found on Pinterest, and it's working well so far. Just poke a hole in the top of your storage jars and run the twine through. Quick and easy.

As you can see, I'm big on the "cube" storage. All of these are from Michael's, and I love that I can label what's in every drawer (because no matter how much I use this stuff, I can never remember where I stash it all). I've also converted all my cardstock into vertical storage -- just seems to work out better for me.

On the other wall is my Expedit storage. On the top rows, I keep my most recent albums (i.e., the ones I'm still poking pages into), as well as idea books, all my patterned paper (organized by manufacturer), and a bin that holds my clear stamps.

I've started using the Tim Holtz stamp storage sleeves to hold my clear stamps (stole the idea from this blog), and I love being able to flip through them all quickly. They are sorted by manufacturer, and I cut the manufacturer's logo from the packaging and stick it along the top for easy reference.

Along the bottom shelves of the Expedit are boxes and baskets that I use to store spare embellishments, kits, alterable items and photos.

I keep all my alpha stickers on the double-decker Clip-It-Up that sits on my desk. This desk has worked perfectly for me because (a) it has a really large workspace that I can spread out on, and (b) it has storage underneath where I can keep kits that I'm working with and tools that I reach for most (like my trimmers, ATG gun and all my i-rock supplies).

Speaking of i-rock supplies, they are stored in this Kaboodle make-up case from Target. I love how it has all the levels and compartments to keep the accessories in.

I added a little i-Rock bling to the inside (of course).

There is also a closet in my room, but trust me, you do NOT want me to open those doors right now. Maybe someday.

GIVEAWAY

I hope you enjoyed my little tour and I would love it if you would stop by my blog today and leave a comment there. I'm giving away an Imaginisce prize pack with papers and embellishments from the Little Cutie line AND an Imaginisce d-stress tool!

Hope to see you there.
