I don't have any treasured ornaments as I bought them from $1 dollar shop.

Oh wow, so many great ideas today!!! I need to make a few of those before Christmas!!!! I think my most treasured ornaments would be all the fun macaroni angels, painted handprints etc. that my kids have all made at one time or another when they were little. I love them all, more than anything I could ever buy.

When we were stationed in Panama all our glass ornaments were broken in the move. So got a kit where you paint wooden ornaments (both sides).Kids watched to see which ornament Mom finished. Kids were very young at that time. Those ornaments 30+ years old still hang on our tree. They have become the treasured ornaments at our house with lots of memories with them.

Loving all the projects the DT posted! Great job! My treasured Christmas ornament happens to be an ornament my grandmother made me. She was active in ceramics and hand painted and glazed an angel for me. I handle it with great care!

Wow! So many great projects! Thanks for the inspiration. My most treasured ornaments to date would be the ones that used to be on my Grandma's tree when she was still alive. I remember them very vividly on her tree and now I get to see them on my tree. They are very dear to me.

My favourite ornament is from my mother - a crochet angel for the top of the tree.

My favourite christmas ornament would have to be a wreath! Great inspirations!

My most treasured Christmas ornament is a little glass angel that was given to me by a very special friend a few years back. I always save the most visible spot on my tree for it every year!

I dont have one most treasured ornament on the tree. But we do have a tradition of giving a new ornament to each of the kids for christmas so that when they leave on their own they will have some for their first tree.

I treasure every ornament that my boys have brought home from school or made with me at home. They are all made with love!

So much inspiration today...so little time before Christmas!
I have these candles that look like simple, plain ball ornaments. They are so ordinary looking but put up on the book cases with foliage, they help make the living room look decorated.

I love my precious moments holiday ornaments, and also the ones that I got from Restoration Hardware years ago that are music themed -- I like to have something on the tree that represents my hubby.

Each year my daughter and I pick out a new ornament for the tree to replace any that may have gotten broken from the previous year. There is always a reason we pick that particular ornament each year so each of these special hand-picked ornaments are my most treasured.

loving3boys1girl said...

I don't have many. My tree is full of cheap ornaments that I don't mind if they break. I packed up anything breakable when my first baby was 1 and he's 9 and they're still packed up. Someday, those will get to come back out but for now (and I'm sure always!), my most treasured, like most moms, are the ones my kids have made me at school!

Most of my ornaments came from my grandparents so they are special. The other favorite I have is a wreath I made in 4th grade from fabric covered bottle caps. I still hang it up every year.

My most treasured ornaments are the ones my babies have made at school! They will be forever wonderful keepsakes!

We're still working on treasured items. Right now it's mostly about having the house decorated. I don't have hand me downs from my parents with stories...but I definitely can't wait for my son to start making decorations for us at school (years away, though). This year, I made the Silhouette America Advent Calendar and that is our first step in a tradition we hope to build on in the future. So far, that's my favorite addition and hope to enjoy it for MANY years.

Melinda said...

Love all the projects, very inspiring! Hmm...I don't have a favorite ornament, but a favorite decoration is a garland that my daughter makes every year!

These projects are all great! My most cherished ornament, unfortunately, was crushed last year. It was given to me when I was about 3 years old and my mom has kept it all these years and last year she passed it on to me to put on my tree. It didn't survive :( I even cried.

I made a clay reindeer face in kindergarten and painted its nose black when all of the other kids painted theirs red. :)

Unknown said...

My most treasured christmas decorations are the framed pictures of my daughter each year with Santa. Love them!

SandiB said...

My mother had gotten the four of us each a special ornament when we were very little. Over 50 years ago. I still have mine and one of my sisters. They are very fragile and I don't even put them on the tree for fear of breaking them more. I guess it's the sentimental aspect of them that I like.

ajmaluck said...

My grandmother had bought sets of gold ornaments from the Danbury mint for each of her grandkids. They are packaged in a beautiful box and I will treasure them forever as a lasting gift from her.

I have a few favorite ornaments that I keep separately from the rest. One of them is a cute Hawaiian boy playing his ukulele with a Christmas t-shirt on - It's a stuff little doll. He is one of my favorites! Thanks for the chance!!

Oh wow, even more great ideas with this gorgeous and cute Christmas collection! I actually don't really have a favourite Christmas ornament, but I do love some of the whimsical angels that my mom always hangs on the upper branches of our Christmas tree:)

Barbara said...

My favorite ornament is the Battenburg lace angel that tops the tree. I made the lace itself from scratch and hand embroidered her face. It's my favorite because my family treasures it and always shows it off to visitors. It will be passed down through the family.

GORGEOUS projects today!! LOVE that little treat container (sour cream containter!)!!! LOVE:)

My fav Christmas ornament---would have to be the ornament my mom got my husband and I for our first Christmas. She usually buys the yearly ornaments from Hallmark--and it was the start of our new tradition (buying ornaments as a new family)!! THANKS for the chance to win--sbmmhoover at yahoo dot com

I have two favorite types of Christmas ornaments: 1. Ornaments that came from my granny and papaw's first Christmas tree (late 40's) 2. All of the hand-painted ceramic ornaments my children and I have done over the years.
Each year we get such a kick out of reminiscing as we decorate the tree!

I have many treasured ornaments! There are some of when my kids were little (OK, so maybe their preschool teachers actually made them, but they're precious nonetheless), there's the glass pickle our friend got us when we were pregnant with our first child, the ornament with sand from Hilton Head when we were on vacation, and of course those ornaments that have family pics from over the years. Yes, I LOVE our ornaments and our Xmas tree. It just says a lot about US. :)
