Guest Designer - Day 2 & Giveaway!

It's been great having Megan Aaron as our Guest Designer this past month and we have loved seeing her beautiful creations.

Before we share more of her fabulous projects we had a few more questions to ask Megan just so that we could get to know her a wee bit better.

Q: If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
A: Hmmm, it's a toss up. The beach is always nice, but I just LOVE mountains. So I think I would have to go with somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, maybe Colorado.

Q: What inspires you?
A: All kinds of things! I am inspired by blogs, magazines, pinterest, new products, photos, etc. I am pretty much always on the lookout for inspiration and I keep a notebook with me at all times to jot my ideas down.

Q: What kinds of projects to you prefer to create:
A: I used to make primarily layouts, but a few things, including a lack of photos have prompted me to move more into card making. I enjoy card making because it allows me to try out techniques without worrying about making mistakes. Also, I can make a card in an evening after work, whereas layouts take me much longer. However, I will never give up my first love of layouts because I love looking at the photos of my adorable daughter and capturing those memories for the future.

*******

Now let's get to those awesome projects that Megan has to share with us today!
She designed 2 beautiful cards using the Sole Sisters collection.

"Best Friends Forever"
Megan wanted to use the i-rock Flourish stencil for the perfectly shaped circular swirls, but the whole swirl was too large for the card, so she used a pencil to mark where the gems should go and used the same small swirl three times to create a swirl that was perfect for the scale of the card.

Supplies: Imaginisce (Sole Sisters collection, i-rock tool, Black Glam Rocks and stencil); Wasau paper and American Crafts cardstock, sewing machine, The Twinery (red twine)

"Thanks a Bunch"
When Megan saw the three die cuts she knew that they would be make a great card, pretty much all on their own! She wanted to use the "Thanks a bunch" Snag 'em Stamp but only the sentiment part. So she created a mask. To keep the white cardstock pristine, she made the mask so that it was just a hole cut out for the sentiment, then stamped in that hole.

Supplies: Imaginisce (Sole Sisters collection, i-rock tool and Black Glam Rocks, white Foam Tape); American Crafts cardstock, Tsukineko ink

Megan also created this adorable altered project - a box of chocolates!! What a perfect gift for a dear friend!

"Best Friends"
Megan altered a Godiva Chocolates 'traditional' gold box by wrapping it with two contrasting patterned papers. She just turned the paper upside down and traced the box on the back in pencil. It was so quick & easy! A couple of die cuts and a big red bow to finish it off!

Supplies: Imaginisce (Sole Sisters collection, white Foam Tape); Maya Road Ribbon and Spellbinders die

Thank you so much Megan for sharing your beautiful work with us.
