April Guest Designer - Day 2 & Giveaway!

Did you have an enjoyable weekend?
We certainly hope so and we're thrilled that you've joined us this Monday.

We've got some more incredible projects to finish off the month of April from our talented April Guest Designer, Christine Ousely.

Before we share more of her projects we had a few more questions to ask Christine.

Q: Where do you like to create?
A: I like to create in my scraproom. I have a beautiful room with lots of storage and tables. It's just comfy!

Q: What inspires you?
A: I'm inspired by new techniques, tools and paper.

Q: What kinds of projects do you prefer to create?
A: I am in more of a scrapbook phase right now. I still have so many pictures to scrapbook and with the birth of my youngest son this year I feel the need to stay ahead of the game. But I also love to create cards and make several a week.

Q: What is your favorite Imaginisce product right now?
A: My favorite Imaginisce product right now is the iRock. I just got one and I love it!! I didn't realize how easy it was use and can't wait to dazzle up my cards and scrapbook pages.

Well, hopefully that has helped you to get to know a little bit more about Christine!

She wowed us with her first set of projects and she's going to do it
again so hold on tight!
Here we go!

Wow, with summer right around the corner, these Making Waves papers and embellishments are just what you need for all your playing in the water pictures. Bright colored and fun - I have so much fun creating with them!

Hot Summer Days Layout
On my layout I used many of the Making Waves Sun-Kissed Die-cuts. I popped them up with foam squares from Imaginisce for added dimension.

Looking at the close up of the sun, you can see the glossy accents on parts of the shape. This is such a cool element to Imaginisce's papers and embellishment. Another thing I loved about this collection is the "B" sides of the papers. The small prints worked so well with the icon paper to give my layout interest and contrast.

In this Sun-kissed Die Cuts are many large titles that can be used on your layouts.

Life's A Beach Card

I just love the cute little Snag Em' stamps that accompany each of Imaginisce's collections. For my card, I stamped the sand castle image three times across the white cardstock and then colored them in with Copic markers. I also added a cloud background with my Copic markers. The sentiment is a SRM Sticker which was stuck to the white cardstock. I adhered the card base to the Imaginisce patterned paper Surf's Up! and then took some scraps of pattern paper and cut them into banner shapes. The starfish is from the Sunny Side Up Sticker Stacker sheet. I was able to peel off the embellishment easily from the base and placed it on my card. A little strip of Keepin' Cool patterned paper and my beach scene was created!

Supplies used: Imaginisce (Making Waves stamps, papers and embellishments); SRM Stickers (Sentiment); Copic Markers; Momento ink; Papertrey Ink (white cardstock)

Beach Party Invitation

I'm not really sure what my obsession with party invitations has been about lately but I am sure having fun making them. (See my last guest designer project for Imaginisce here). My youngest is turning one this summer so maybe party decor is just on my creative brain. I really want to come up with something fun for his big occasion.

My invitation/card was created using some of the beautiful Making Waves paper and the fun Sun-kissed Die Cuts. Have I told you how much I love the die cuts in this collection yet? Well I do! They are so cute!! I thought that this little guy would be great for a boy's beach party theme character. I simply decorated the card front with some patterned paper so that he would be the focal point. I also used the foam squares to pop him up over the starfish to give the scene depth.

Supplies used: Imaginisce (Making Waves stamps, papers and embellishments); SRM Stickers (Invitation wording); May Arts (Ribbon)

In this picture you can see the invitation part of the card. I cut a tag from the Surf's Up patterned paper and then stuck the SRM Sticker on it. The details of the party can then be written on the sticker. I used the May Arts ribbon to embellish my tag. I think it is the perfect color and pattern for these papers.

Inside the card, the tag is held by a cute little pocket made from patterned paper and embellished with a sandcastle die cut.

So there you have it. Examples of how you can you use the Making Waves collection for cards and eye catching invitations. I know the bright and fun patterns will inspire you as much as they have me. Thanks again for having me as the Guest designer for April. It's been great fun sharing my projects with you.

I've had such a wonderful time as Imaginisce's April Guest Designer. Thanks to everyone who has stopped by and left such lovely comments. Each one was very appreciated and read with a smile!
