Tool Extravaganza - Shellye

Today Shellye McDaniel is going to share some projects that she made
using the i-rock Mini Iron.

To begin, using the grid on the mat, fold your ribbon to create 1" loops and iron into place, creating a crease. Create as many loops as needed to achieve the desired length. Add a small dab of fabric glue between the loop and the base of the ribbon to help keep in place. Using the Imagi-Cut create a dovetail at the ribbon ends by folding the ribbon in half and cutting/sealing.

Attach to the top of the headband (at both sides of the metal disc) with fabric glue.
For the large blossom I used four different white fabric flowers and two of the daisy shaped flowers for the base.

First, take each flower and fold in half; then fold in half again. Hand-sew or use a little fabric glue at the base of the flower to hold in place. Do the same with the other three flowers. Assemble the four by clustering together and then glue or sewing at the base. I snipped the tip off of the bottom so that the blossom would sit flat before attaching to one of the daisy shaped flowers with fabric glue. Allow to dry.

For the second daisy shaped flower, insert the hole of the flower over the metal hub of the headband. Using a strong glue (like E-6000) I attach the base of the blossom to the Twist Daddy and then screwed onto the headband. This could be modified somewhat, but was the best solution that I had to achieve the look that I wanted :)

TOOLS: Mini Iron, Imagi-Cut, Mat
SUPPLIES: Black Headband, Neautral Fabric Flowers, Large Twist Daddy
MISC: Grosgrain ribbon and fabric glue

Using the Mini Iron, fold ribbon and iron to create the perfect pleat! You could add as many of these ribbon streamers to your card as you'd like. The mini iron is perfect for those small items that need the attention of an iron...and don't forget, it will not only put the pleat in a ribbon, but it will take out the wrinkles in seconds!

TOOLS: Mini Iron
Other supplies: Hello Cupcake patterned papers and stickers.
Misc: baker's twine, button and 7/8" grosgrain ribbon

I like the ribbon ironed down! I usually leave it puffed up and it often either gets flattened down but wonky once it's put in the book or doesn't stay in place. The banner on the card is a great idea and the hair band is adorable. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you all! I wanted to answer Tammy's question:
"Can you iron on this mat??? Thank you for sharing!!"
I did, Tammy! The iron doesn't seem to get nearly as hot as a regular iron...maybe because the plate is so much smaller and has less area to heat up? (that's my sort-of-educated guess anyway LOL)
