Tool Extravaganza - Abby

Well, we've reached the last day of our Tool Extravaganza monthly feature! And we want to thank you for your amazing support and the beautiful comments that you've all left us.

Today we have Abby Laubenstein sharing some projects with us. She used the i-Bond in such creative & fun ways.

Let's take a look!

As soon as I received the Imaginisce i-bond, I was in love. Not only is it super comfortable in my hand, but also cordless. Yes, please!

I made a votive and used the i-bond to create a swirly design. I found a drinking glass at a rummage sale for 10 cents, then used my i-rock template and a marker to stencil the design on the glass. I then followed the dots with my i-bond.

After the glue cooled, I spray painted the entire glass. You could surely add ribbons and such if you prefer, but I chose to go clean and simple. I've tested my candle for a couple hours and the glue will not melt as the candle is burning. Score! :)

Supplies- Imaginisce: i-bond, i-bond glue sticks, i-rock stencil kit. Other- Spray paint, glass, marker.

I also made a fun headband created with globs of glue! I used the i-bond and Imaginisce glitter glue sticks (love those!) to make round shapes onto wax paper. They almost look like little gems or stones. So sparkly!

Then I used the i-bond to adhere them onto an Imaginisce i-top headband. I love how this turned out! It's simple to create, yet super cute!

Tool Extravaganza - Cari

Well, we're almost finished our Tool Extravanga. Only 2 more days and then we'll be announcing some lucky winners.

Today we have Cari Locken sharing some projects that she made using the super fun i-rock tool.

Hi everyone!

My first project is a simple card. I wanted to show how you can dress up a simply designed card by using the Imaginisce i-rock tool, an i-rock stencil (Bracket & Border), pink jewel tray and some Hot Rocks (Glitter).

I first of all cut my card base to size.

Then I took one of the i-rock stencils, placed it over my card and used a pencil to lightly mark the stencil design.

I then choose my colors of Hot Rocks - not sure if you can tell but I tried to make it resemble a cupcake top ... a wee bit. :)

I also used the i-rock tool to make the twine curly.

All you need to do is carefully wrap the twine around the tip of the i-rock tool and hold for a few seconds (while the tool is on & hot). Then release the twine and it will be have a spiral shape! Super fun (just be careful to not burn your fingers!!)

Here's my finished card.

My second project today is an altered one.

My daughter & I were shopping one day at the mall and she saw this hairbrush all blinged out! She asked me if I could do that to her hairbrush and I thought "Sure!! Why not!"

So I took her hairbrush, sanded the top part to rough up the smooth surface in order for the rhinestones to adhere better.

I then took a stencil (with a flower shape) and used a marker to outline the shape.

I used purple jewels for the basic flower shape.

I completed the rest of the hairbrush using the clear Hot Rocks.

Tool Extravaganza - Regina

Welcome back to our final week of our month-long feature Tool Extravaganza!!

That's right. Only a few more days left and then we'll be announcing 3 lucky winners!!!

Today we have Regina Mangum sharing her talents with us

using the Clicut.

JOYRIDE LAYOUT

I love to cut things out, especially very finely detailed images and I also love a straight edge! I knew I wanted to showcase my all-time favorite hobby blade: The Clicut Retractable Pen Knife. (To be fair, I'm also showing off the ever-cool i-Mat 8 x 8 Self-healing Mat!)

I wanted to do something special with the photo of my little rugrat having the time of his life on a train ride and decided to create a woven photo.

A. Print 2 copies of the same image, one in full color, the other in black & white.

B. My photo is a 5 x 7. The smaller the photo, the tricker the weave as photo paper is thick. This size worked well.

C. Trim one photo horizontally.

D. Trim second photo vertically.

E. Weave strips as you would a basket. Don't worry if you are left with a crazy looking shape as you try to line up the image.

F. Crop and trim the woven image and mat with cardstock.

PHOTO COASTERS

My next project is a set of colorful Photo Coasters. I used various patterned papers and added a few embellishments, being careful to keep things relatively flat, as these would be usable coasters. I also applied a self-adhesive laminate sheet (available at your local office supply store) and trimmed with the Clicut.

1. Trim patterned paper slightly larger than coaster.

2. Adhere coaster with strong adhesive.

3. Trim with Clicut around coaster.

4. Repeat with each coaster and also after applying laminate sheet.

LAYOUT
I love Imaginisce tools, they make a difference at the time of the creation of my designs, they are practical and easy to use.

Today my focus is to I-Top 2.0 tool.

This is an amazing tool which makes several sizes of brads and still can customize them using various materials such as paper, fabric and more.

In this layout I used two sizes of brads that added volume and movement unique to my layout.

Tool Extravaganza - Heather

Our Design Team continue to inspire us with their talent and creativity!

Today we have Heather Leopard sharing some fabulous creations that she made using the cutting mat, Little Snips, i-rock Mini Iron and the i-top 2.0.

No doubt about it, Imaginisce has some of the BEST tools on the market and I love that they are always adding to their collection. Way before I was an obsessed scrapbooker I would dabble with sewing, usually making outfits for my then toddler girl. I kind of got away from it as she got older so when we were asked to create anything we wanted using Imaginisce tools, I immediately gravitated to my fabric stash.

Cup Koozie

Down here in Texas we drink a lot of sweet tea. My family loves the sweet tea from our Keurig machine. We make it using their Brew over Ice cups, which look fine but I wanted to dress mine up a little so I made this cup koozie.

I cut the fabric using the new cutting mat. Have you seen the cool design of it? I also used the snippit scissors but the rotary cutter would work great too. I made a pattern, which can be downloaded from my blog, and cut the fabric. I cut two strips of fabric from the pattern and a third using felt for the inside. I also cut strips to use for ruffles on the top and bottom.

Before I sewed it together, I covered a medium button daddy with coordinating fabric using my i-top 2.0. I hand stitched it to the fabric and then sewed the pattern and ruffles together, adding twine to the opposite end from the button.

Once it was all stitched together, I wrapped it around the cup, tying it around the button. My ice tea glass is not so boring anymore!

Bag Tags/Key Fobs

My original idea for this next project was to create a key fob for my keys but I just got back from a trip to London and realized I really needed a set of bag tags for my luggage. I’m sure you know all how hard it is to find your luggage when they all look alike. As I was creating mine it dawned on me that my girls could use new tags on their back packs so made them some as well.

To make these, I used the new cutting mat and snippits again. I simply cut different shapes from fabric and felt and cut out our initials. I stitched the initials to one side of the fabric before stitching it all together so that the outline of the initial would show on the back of the tag. I added the loop to the inside of the fabric and then stitched it all together.
