I was so inspired by this challenge, I just love shaped cards! I found this cute design in the Silhouette store and knew I wanted to make some of these little bird cards!
There are a few friends of mine who are expecting right now so I thought how cute it would be to create a baby card! I started with the Makin' Waves collection and used the blue chevron pattern paper as my base. I added a smidge of orange in the wing and my favorite tear shaped gems for accent. A bit of baker's twine for hair was my finishing touch.
After I created him, I figured he needed a friend so I created the pink girl themed card next. : )
I thought these also work nicely for the holidays, so I created a few more using our Christmas Cheer collection. A bit of orange is layered into their wings.
Blue and Pink Bird Ingredients: Makin' Waves papers, i-rock, Glam Rocks in Black, Silver Tears, Hearts and Hot Rocks Compact - Rhinestuds and Glitter by Imaginisce, Twine by The Twinery, White and Black Cardstock by AC and Silhouette.

I love shaped cards! For my challenge project, I wanted to make a fun little card for my little guy's upcoming birthday. He is a HUGE fan of cupcakes and so I combined patterned papers from the Hello Cupcake and Makin' Waves collections. There was orange in the paper and I added some cardstock to match. And, for the "cherry on top," I used the i-Top and a medium Brad Daddy to make a coordinating topper!
Supply list:
Patterned Paper: Let's Party, Wish Big from Hello, Cupcake collection; Makin' Waves collection (Imaginisce); Accents: Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie (Stampin' Up!) Good Times Sticker Stacker, Brad Daddy (Imaginisce); Tool: i-Top (Imaginisce)

Stepping out of my normal card size isn't always easy for me but I love using my Cricut Expression to make shaped cards and layouts. So I used the Wild Card 2 cartridge to create this cute little owl shaped card. It's approx. 6 1/2" x 5" in size.
I used several different patterned papers, embossed the orange one to give some texture. I did the same thing on the 'branch' of the card using a woodgrain embossing folder. The cartridge had a cut-out shape for the eyes but I used my i-Top tool and smallest sized brad daddies to make the eyes for my owl.
Supplies used: Imaginisce (patterned papers from Makin' Waves and Monster Mash, i-Top tool, 16mm brad daddies), Embossing folders, Cricut Expression 2, Wild Card 2 cartridge, The Twinery (twine), Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink pad

I had no sentiment or words on the front of the card so I typed out a phrase/sentiment onto white cardstock, punched it out and adhered it to the inside of the card.
