St. Patrick's Day Inspiration - Day 1

Top 'o the mornin' to ya!

With St. Patrick's Day coming up we thought it would be fun to share some festive projects with you.

Saint Patrick's Day (also known as "The Day of the Festival of Patrick") is known as a cultural & religious holiday celebrated on March 17th. It was celebrated as early as the 17th century. The day generally includes parades, festivals, wearing green clothing & shamrocks abound in plenty. Over the years the holiday has taken on a more secular celebration of Irishness & Irish culture.

Over the week our designers will be sharing a variety of fabulous St. Patty's Day themed projects and we hope that you enjoy them. We know you'll want to try out some of their ideas because they're super cute!

St. Patty's Day Wreath

I love St. Patrick's Day!  My maiden name is O'Brien and so with a name like Mary Pat O'Brien you can bet my family sure did celebrate!.  I needed a home decor wreath for our back door and  the papers in Good Dog and Childhood Memories have the perfect color of green for my wreath.  I love all the different patterns.  I also went through stash and pulled out a darker green piece of paper from Christmas Cheer for contrast.

To make my wreath I started by making 36 shamrocks in 4 different patter papers.

Next I used my I Bond glue gun.  I love this little tool.  It melts the glue to the perfect temperature and doesn't burn your fingers!  I put a dab of glue on the shamrock and placed it on my wire wreath.

I alternated the pattern pieces around my wreath.

Once I had all my shamrocks in place, I created my pot of gold.  For the look of gold coins I used my I Rock and some beautiful yellow and orange gems.  I glued that on the bottom of my wreath and hung it on my back door.  I love how it turned out!

Supply list
paper- Imaginisce (Good Dog, Childhood Memories, Christmas Cheer)
cardstock-Bazzill
Tools- I Bond and I Rock (hot rocks)
Wire 12" wreath

Please join us again tomorrow for more "shamrock" inspiration!

Heidi, I used my Silhouette but I would assume there is a cutting file with the cricut that is a shamrock
