Family Tradition with Suzanna

Sometimes it's not easy to add embellishments to a layout, card or other type of project because the papers and other pieces of the project have so much detail already.

Designer, Suzanna Lee, shows us how easy it is to add that special little 'touch' just by adding a bit of 'bling' using the i-rock too. Plus she mixes 2 collections (Love You More & Black Ice) together so perfectly!!!

Chinese New Year

I have a layout to share with you today celebrating a family tradition. I am half Chinese and grew up in Hong Kong (little known fact for some of you!). Though it may be "the end of the line", my children have been taught about Chinese New Year and continue the family tradition of the tea ceremony. Red is found everywhere during Chinese New Year and other holidays and family gatherings thus the predominance of red on the layout. Gold, or sometimes yellow, is also a very commonly found color during this time.

I used the hot rocks to put little gold centers into the flowers on the 5x7 laser printable invitation for some added "culture".

Supplies
Imaginice; Patterned Paper: Childhood Memories, Love You More, Black Ice; Chipboard: Childhood Memories; 5x7 Invitation: Black Ice, iRock tool, Hot Rocks
Other: Die: Memory Box, Silhouette Cameo, Font: Britannica Bold

What a fun layout! I love how you used the hot rocks as the center of the flowers. I must try this soon! Such lovely colors!
