Repurposing a Paint Can

In need of some ideas for children to store their toys?
Amanda repurposed an old paint and it's just darling!

Altered Paint Can

For my project of choice, I knew that I wanted to repurpose this old paint can into a fun carrying bucket for my youngest daughter. She loves her my little ponies, and with all the colors and unicorns in the Little Princess line, I knew I'd be able to create her a cute container to use when she carts them from room to room!

I started by taking the pink and white diagonal stripe paper from Welcome Spring, and covering the base of the can. I just used my scissors and cut around the handle openings.

From there, I didn't want to add too much bulk and dimension, as I know this will be used, and often. So, using a few of my favorite patterns from the Little Princess line, I layered some pennant shapes, wrapping one with twine for a little added interest.

Then using one of the banner stickers from the My Baby-girl, I removed the dimensional adhesives, and adhered it straight onto the bucket. This gave me a "shelf" to layer her name, using some fun sparkly gold thickers.

Wanting to add in some more of the gold, I randomly added sequins, then added some gold star rub ons around them.

I, of course, had to add in that adorable pink unicorn die cut, I added foam adhesive on it, just to help it stand out a little bit. For the finishing touch, I used some light blue baker's twine to wrap the handle, it upped the cute factor just a little more! :)

Supply list:
Imaginicse: Patterned Papers ( Welcome Spring, Little Princess); Die Cut ( Little Princess), Sticker ( Welcome Baby-girl)
American Crafts: Twine, Thickers, foam adhesive

SUPER CUTE paint can Amanda - LOVE your sweet transformation with such pretty papers!!!
I am smiling as I imagine your daughter carrying her rainbow of ponies around ... I think she will enjoy carrying it around empty too :)
THANK YOU for sharing your altered can, I haven't been very adventurous on the repurposing front and really do need to start working on all the old "treasures" I have been hoarding for "one-day"!!!
