Back-to- School "Fun Packet"

In need of some ideas for back to school?
Check out this little creation by Michelle!

Back to School Fun Packet

Hello Imaginisce fans!
Back to School continues here on the blog and I’ve got a little “fun packet” as I am calling it.  Generally speaking, I think back to school is fun for parents, and for the younger kids.  My kids are going in to 5th and 7th grades and I can’t say they are jumping up for joy about school starting again.  Don’t get me wrong, they like school, but I think they love summertime:  riding their bikes all day, playing in the pool, baseball in the park with friends, popsicles, and staying out and up late.  But we’ve got a little family friend who is going in to second grade.  Now she is really excited about starting school.  So we decided to mail her a little fun packet to add to her excitement.

Using Imaginisce’s Welcome Spring collection, I punched out some confetti using a standard hole punch.  And then I die cut some 2s – for 2nd grade – and the word happy, and added in a pre-made die cut.

And then put all of this in to a little glassine bag.

I folded the bag top over, and added a strip of tickets and then topped that with the happy that I had die cut.

I wanted to use a clothespin to fasten the top, but didn’t want it plain.  So I glued a fun piece of Welcome Spring patterned paper with a little birdie on it to a clothespin.  And then I trimmed off the excess and filed around the edges to roughen it up a bit.

Lastly, I added a bit of baker’s twine for some added color and texture.
And then sent this little fun packet off to Palm Springs, California!
xoxo
