Love Grows Strong

During the month of April our Design Team has the opportunity to create any type of project with any theme .  So the doors are wide open on this one and were excited to share their creations with you!
Today Laura shares this beautiful layout.

Hello crafty friends! I am up on the Imaginisce blog today sharing a new layout!  The DT was able to create a page with any theme that they wished, and with Arbour Day later this month I thought that I would give a little nod to that and scrapbook a layout about a tree.  Sounds funny, doesn't it?  Keep reading you will understand, trust me!

To celebrate my youngest son's adoption my mother bought him an Oak tree, there are many historical meanings associated with Oak trees and she favoured the ones that referenced strength and family.  He loved his little tree and took great pride in taking care of it.

I began my page knowing that I wanted to use a tree die cut, and found one in the Silhouette store that also had a great sentiment and some fun hearts that could be used as leaves for the tree.

I decided instead to scatter the hearts and cut them out of my cardstock background, which I backed with a green patterned paper from the Par-r-rty Me Hearty Collection.  I also die cut a few more hearts out of a pink patterned paper from the Sunny collection and pop dotted them around my page.

I layered my photo with a couple of more patterns from the Sunny collection and added some messy stitching for texture.

This cute sun die cut was just perfect to nestle into the trees branches.

My title was created with a combination of the letter stickers from the Sunny collection and die cut words via the Silhouette.

I created another embellishment cluster to the left of my photo using some more pretty die cuts.

My journaling is long and sort of ended up taking over my page, but I am totally okay with that as this story is important to our family!
