Everyday Inspiration

Good Monday Morning!!

We hope that you've been having an enjoyable Easter weekend.

We've got a post filled with so much inspiration today that you'll just have to grab that cup of coffee, pull up that chair and sit with us for a while!

"These chicks were quick and easy to make! Because my inspiration photo is of three chicks sporting bunny ears, I used three of the die-cut bunnies from the

Hippity Hop collection to mimic this.

Next, just punch a 2" circle from a piece of cardstock. Punch a small heart from an orange patterned paper for the beak and apply to the circle with a foam dot.

For the eyes, I used black glittered brads from some older Imaginisce stock, but you could use pom poms, i-rock gems, etc.

For the hats, I used the same 2" punch, but only punched about 1/3" of the way into the desired paper. Embellish with ribbon, glitter, flowers or whatever your heart desires!"

"I love retro style decoration pieces and this candle votive is one of my favorite gifts from my son. I love the pattern and knew right away I would use it for my inspiration project.

I turned the pattern on it's side and created this fun Easter themed layout. I used photos and papers in place of the rectangle and hand-stitched around each of them to mimic the gold border on the votive. I completed my page by adding embellishments and a title."

Every year, the 2^nd graders at the school my daughters attend get to grow a garden. I was lucky enough to volunteer in their garden the day they were harvesting carrots. It was great because some of the parents peeled and cleaned them and the students got to eat them for lunch. As I was looking for Spring gardening ideas, I came across these really fun little cookies, which look delicious but not as healthy as carrots. It inspired me to create this layout about gardening day. To make the layout, I used a photo corner punch to cut the different pieces that make up the large chevron, which is not only the latest trend but I see a resemblance in the photo above, in the wafers and grass covering. To make the photos pop, I added a layer of vellum. Then I added another layer of smaller chevron at the bottom by using a zig zag punch and laying the punched pieces over each other. For my title, I used a die cut from the Hippity Hop collection and made a large brad using the i-top 2.0 to place over the "O" in Grow.
