Scraplifting Inspiration

It's easy for crafters to get into a creative rutt sometimes and have difficulty coming up with creative ideas.
Finding inspiration online (i.e. Pinterest, Facebook, online scrappy galleries/blogs) are a great place to start and get those creative juices flowing.  As is scraplifting one of your favourite designers. You can choose to create something that is very similar or just pick a few elements that you'd like to incorporate into your work.
(*Either way ... always remember to give credit due where necessary. :) )

Let's take a look at what a couple of our designers have to share with us today.

Scraplift a Journal

I love making altered projects and decided to scraplift one of Cari Locken's projects. I just love the altered journal that she made using Imaginisce's Black Ice collection.

Here's my take on her journal. I used the new Perfect Vacation collection. A travel journal is a great idea for summer road trips. You can keep the kiddos busy with a fun activity too. They can write about the journey and have a place to collect their souvenirs.

Here's a close up of the cover. I even added a mini pencil for the kiddos.

I added glassine bags to some of the pages. You can insert more travel papers from the Perfect Vacation collection into the bags along with souvenirs.

Supply List:
Imaginisce: patterned paper (Perfect Vacation)
Imaginisce: My Baby Gems
Stash: Ribbon, twine, glassine bag, mini pencil

Lanette Erickson

This week we were asked to scraplift another design team member work. So as you can imagine the hardest part is picking who and what you are going to lift. I finally decided on a beautiful LO created by Monique Liedtke using the  super cute Bushel of fall Collection.

Here is her layout:

For my layout I stuck pretty close to Monique's layout after all its stunning! I used the oh so sweet  My Baby Collection and featured one for the first pictures ever taken of my youngest daughter Peyton.

Here is my take on Monique's Layout:

And just a few detailed looks just for fun.

I added just a but of twine to my die cut title that i popped up using some foam dots.

I just love these layered stickers aren't the bunnies just the cutest thing ever!

Supplies used:
Imaginisce Products Used: Pattern Paper –My Baby,Die Cuts- My Baby, Layered Stickers -My Baby.
American Crafts Products Used:White Cardstock, Twine, Foam Adhesive, Double Sided Adhesive.

Valentines Gift Card Holder

Everyone loves gift cards! Check out this fun idea created by Angi.

Valentine Gift Card Holder

I love making gift card holders for Valentine's Day Gifting. It is the perfect little gift for teens and college students too.

I used a die to make the holder. Of course I used some fun and colorful Imaginisce paper. The new Welcome Spring line has the cutest little owl with a heart. It's perfect for Valentine's Day crafting.

I added pop dots to the back of a Welcome Spring die cut card and placed it on the front. It adds a bit of dimension that way. I also added an Imaginisce button, a gem, and a felt heart to dress it up a bit.

The holder is also big enough to add small candy for an extra added treat!

Supply List
Imaginisce: patterned paper (Welcome Spring)
Imaginisce: Die Cut Card (Welcome Spring)
Imaginisce: Button (Welcome Spring)
Imaginisce: My Baby Gem
American Crafts: Glitter Tape (red)
Felt Heart: Hobby Lobby

Scraps - Day 2

We're back today with more inspiration on how to use up those scraps!!

Today we have designers Michelle & Angi sharing their work.

Cards

* woop woop * it’s my first real project up as an Imaginisce designer.  So excited to be here with you today and sharing a lil’ project made with scraps.
I had a couple sheets of patterned paper that I had already worked with on a project that you will see later on, along with some American Crafts cardstock pieces, and some HAPPY diecuts from that same cardstock, so I decided to make some mini happy-new-baby cards.

These cards are about 3.5x5.5, so a little odd size.  But that’s OK, right?

I adhered a block of patterned paper for my base, added a panel to the side which included that bottom patterned strip that comes on 12x12 patterned paper sheets, adhered my HAPPY, did a little faux stitching with a gel pen, added a cute lil’ cardstock shape diecut, and then finished it off with some staples.  A couple of baby cards done and in the stash just waiting for folks to have babies this year!

Supplies:  My Baby (Sweet Baby Girl & Sweet Baby Boy) patterned paper by Imaginisce; Die-cut cardstock shapes by Imaginisce; cardstock by American Crafts; die; Big Shot die-cutting machine; Uniball Signo gel pen; Tim Holtz tiny attacher; adhesive; dimensional adhesive.

"Smile"

I never want to get rid of my Imaginisce scraps. The paper is too bright and happy to just toss away. I've been busy stocking up on handmade gifts that I've made for my fellow teachers.

I found this mini chalkboard at my local craft store. I began to dress it up by placing paper around the frame. I then ran some scraps through my die-cutter and made a flower. I layered pieces and added it to the bottom of the frame. I also added an Imaginisce sticker to the top of the board.

This gift would not be complete without a handmade card. I combined both Imaginisce and American Crafts products for this happy design.

Supply List
Imaginisce: patterned papers (Endless Summer, Falling Leaves Bushel O' Fall)
Imaginisce: Just Be Little Icons
Imaginisce: Colors of Christmas Bling
American Crafts

Some more 2014 Design Team Intros

We are back to with a few more introductions for our 2014 Design Team.

**********

I’m originally from California, but have lived in Idaho for the past 18 years, so I guess I’m an Idahoan now!  I’m married, and mamma to a couple of red-headed freckle-nosed littles.  I’m a working mom, but at the same time I strive to be Super Mom.  In my “spare time” you will find me and all my chubby cheeks plopped down at my craft table making cardsgoodie bags for the kids’ parties, school, and church functions, and making gift tags too.  I’m all about the heartfelt and handcrafted – but at the same time I’m all about the quick & easy.  I don’t have the time or the patience to make anything that takes longer than about a half an hour.  I started papercrafting in 2009, was published for the first time in CARDs magazine later that year, and kept on going from there!

Michelle's Work:

I'm Tracy and I'm very excited to be joining the Imaginisce team!  I am 23 years old and have been scrapbooking since I was around 15 years old.  Currently, I am going to school for Graphic Design, but I also have a Psychology degree after graduating in May of 2012.  I had a change of heart and decided I wanted a career that allowed me to express my creativity!  In addition to school, I also work part-time at my local scrapbooking store and also run my own Etsy shop.  I am very busy, but I wouldn't change it for the world!  When I'm not creating with paper, I enjoy shopping, playing tennis, and spending time with my family and friends.

Hello there!  My name is Lorrie Nunemaker. I am beyond happy to be a part of the 2014 Imaginisce Design Team!
I live in South Bend, Indiana (home of the Fighting Irish).  I am a mom to my son, Alex, and my daughter Ashlea and to my 2 dogs, Katie and Brinkley  I just found out I am going to be a grandma in July!  My daughter and son-in-law along with the entire family are so excited!!   I started scrapbooking about 6 years ago.  A friend of mine sent me a homemade birthday card and I thought it was just about the coolest thing I had ever seen!  I originally started with tradition scrapbook pages and have since ventured into Cards, Mini Albums, 3D paper crafts and digital scrapbook projects with the use of Photoshop.  My most favorite things to create are hybrid projects which combine both traditional papers and embellishments with digital.  I'm looking forward to working with the Imaginisce design team and just a little secret… You are going to LOVE the products they have coming out in the Spring, I know I do!!!!

Angi's Work:

My name is Kelly Holbrook, and I'm from Homer, MI. I have been married for 13 years, and have 5 children ... who are the subjects of most of my layouts. I have been scrapbooking for about 14 years, and would call my style Clean Layers/Eclectic. I homeschool 4 of my 5 kids, who are also involved in dance and soccer. I stay pretty busy, so I try to keep most of my projects quick and uncomplicated. I don't use a lot of techniques, but I love tools ... punches being my most favorite. I think that Imaginisce products are perfect for my clean and playful style, and I am super excited to be on the 2014 team!
