School Supplies with Family Fun

Hi there Imaginisce fans! Suzanna here today to share with you a "Back to School" themed layout. Many of you are preparing your kiddos for that big day with new shoes, back packs and school supplies. We still have a few weeks here in our neck of the woods but that hasn't stopped us from making our school supply purchases.

I created this layout using the Family Fun collection. The "B" sides with the subtle pattern solid colors were just perfect for this layout. I went with some bright colors but tried to stay away from the traditional primaries. The focal point of the layout is the cut file I created with my Silhouette Cameo. I was then able to fill in the bodies of pencils with various colors.

The crafting embellishments from the Family Fun collection are theme perfect for school supplies! The same crayons, markers, glue and scissors for crafting are critical items on the school supply list thus making this collection easily adaptable for my purposes.

I wanted a little extra bling in there so pulled out my iRock and attached some Hot Rocks into the polka dots on the paper for a subtle pizzaz!

2015 Desk Calendar Easel

Hello Imaginisce fans! So glad you're joining us again today.
Well, with this theme of 'new beginnings' that the Design Team has been given over the past couple of weeks I decided that it would be quite fitting to create a new calendar for my desk in my studio.

I found this darling little easel file in the Silhouette online store and decided that I would use it to make a calendar (instead the intended card that it originally was).

I cut out all of my pieces for the easel from some chipboard and patterned paper.  The calendar print & cut file is also from the Silhouette online store. I just printed that out on white copy paper.

After adhering the patterned paper to the chipboard base ....

I began to assemble the calendar pieces.  I wanted to create a type of sticky note pad idea so that as a calendar month passes I can just easily remove it to see the next month.
So I simply ran a bit of temporary adhesive (dots) across the top edge of each month.  I then adhered them together being careful to line up all of the edges.

After adhering the months to the calendar front I adhered some alpha stickers and a button for the year, 2015.

I then simply threaded some twine through the pre-cut holes on the bottom of the easel tying them in knots at either end - this gives the easel the support & balance to stay open on the desk.

"Refresh" layout

Family Fun being repurposed for Crafty Fun. Sort of... LOL!! Suzanna here today to share with you my craft room re-do. A new beginning for my creative space! I have lived in this house going on 8 years now and over that time frame, my scrappy goodies have just moved in. Nothing moved out, just more paper and more embellishments and more tools moving in. It was looking rather "overgrown". Well, I guess my husband had had enough and decided that for my birthday he would buy me furniture and a new desk for my scrappy nook. He even painted the walls for me!

The craft bits and pieces served really to supplement as work as embellishments for the new beginnings of my old craft space. Even sentiments along the selvage strips of various patterned papers worked to support the theme!

The bright, primary colors of the Family Fun collection are right up my alley! I love that there are several themes built within the theme and you can get so much from just one collection! Even if you aren't into the "theme", the B sides of the papers are great neutral patterns that will support about any theme! Love when you can more bang for your buck!

Hello! It's Stephanie from paperANDi and I gotta New Beginnings layout to share with you featuring Imaginisce's "Family Fun" Collection and Imaginisce's Milk Paints! 

  I started out with a white card stock for my base. I use my electronic cutting machine and cut out the following on card stock: good foods, good times, and family time. 

I peeled off my card stock from the mat and brush off the words with some Imaginisce's Milk Paints. 

And my last step to the whole process is to add embellishments from Imaginisce's Family Fun Collection and finish it up by using Imaginisce's i-Rock Tool to add sweet gems (hot rocks!) to it!

New Year - New Start

Hello Imaginisce Fans!
Well, with a New Year comes some new beginnings. That could come in any form and for anything in life. Whether it be a fresh start to the way we eat, purging & cleaning our homes, getting into a daily exercise routine, spending more time with family, etc .... the list could go on & on!!

Over the next couple of weeks our Design Team will be sharing the projects revolving around the theme of NEW BEGINNINGS.
To start us off this week we have the talented  ....

Hi everyone!! So happy to see you here! Today I'm sharing my first project for Imaginisce as part of the 2015 design team! I'm so excited to be staying here for another year and sharing my projects with all of you again!

So, for this layout the challenge was to create a layout about "new beginnings" and to use Imaginisce's "Family Fun" collection. Now, I don't know about you, but I find myself browsing through all the pins on Pinterest way too much, but in this case I was so glad I did, as I knew exactly what I was going to do! I had seen this photo on Pinterest and I wanted to use that as my starting point for this page.

I love both the colors and the design of this pillow cover so much and decided to use both and came up with this: 

How is this about "new beginnings" you might ask? Well, the girl on the right is my daughter and (as some of you might already know) as of August last year she's a foreign exchange student in the US (we are from The Netherlands, Europe). She went to the US, leaving everything behind: her family and friends, her boyfriend, everything that was dear to her to trade it all in for a foreign country, an unknown family, no friends, unknown school(system), unknown everything ... now how is that for new beginnings? 

Here are a few close-ups of my layout: love all the stickers that come with the Family Fun collection!

Except paper, stickers and die-cuts I also pulled out a few Imaginisce tools! Did you notice? Here's what I used: the I-Rock tool, tweezers, jewel tray and some jewels (Glam Rocks). 

This I-Rock tool is one of my favorite tools of Imaginisce. It's cordless and warms super quickly! The jewels have a bit of glue on the bottom and the only thing you have to do is press the warm metal tip of the I-Rock tool on top for a few seconds. The glue melts and as soon as you remove the warm metal tip, the glue cools and the jewel is fixed to your page! Easy Peasy! 

The tray comes in super handy as well. I use it very often for these jewels or for glitter or sequins: without spilling anything, everything glides back into the bottle in a second!

Big Winner with Family Fun!

Hi there! Suzanna here to share with you some more Family Fun inspiration! We all win with this collection it's so varied and diverse! Something for everyone! Today I focused my layout using the arcade themed papers and embellishments with some of the neutrals on the "b" sides of other papers to compliment. 

As the pictures were taken indoors, in a dark room, as one would expect for arcades, I used black cardstock as my background, just as the arcade patterned paper has a black background too. The bright colors of the pictures and patterned papers really contrast nicely and pop from the black background!

The bottom of the layout was a cinch to put together! I stamped the clear acrylic token stamp on the "b" side of the matinee paper then used a circle cutter to punch the tokens out. Layer with the stickers and stars from the letter stickers and you have a fun border that screams arcade fun!

Movie Night Cards

Hello Imaginisce fans!

We had a mess of a snow storm come through these parts last week, and it created some of the bestest family time!  Friday night, the whole family in our jammies, eating grilled cheese sammies and tomato soup, in the living room, in front of the fireplace and watching Christmas movies.  

It was so quiet outside with everyone barricaded in their homes, and it was such a peaceful scene inside of ours.  We love our movie nights and this particular one during the first snow of the year was almost magical.

Today I’m sharing some fun movie night theme cards that I made using Imaginisce’s new Family Fun collection.  Bright patterned paper, super fun die-cuts, and Thickers!

When asked for advice on cardmaking, I have always told people to buy the entire collection.  It’s so easy to put cards together when you have all the fun coordinating bits.  Much easier than trying to match things yourself – in my opnion.

These would be great to pop some movie tickets in to, or package up all cutesy with popcorn and Junior Mints and a good old-fashioned DVD.

Here’s to lots of family time this wonderful holiday season!

"Movie Night"

Hello Imaginisce fans! It’s Monique again with another “Family Fun” layout. The more I use this collection the more I love it!! Every time I discover more fun details, embellishments and thus possibilities. For today’s blog post I decided to use the cinema theme (“matinee” sheet). I had these crazy “selfie” photos of my youngest and I wearing 3D cinema glasses. We love to go to the cinema (not only because I love children’s movies, but above all because I love seeing my youngest’s delight when he watches the film) and so I’ve got quite a couple of photos like these to scrap. This collection was just what I was waiting for!

I started with one of the wonderful Snag ‘em stamps belonging to this collection: “movie”. Not long ago on the Creating Keepsakes blog I saw an example of a stamp being used on a piece of burlap and I knew I wanted to try that technique too. I think it’s awesome how it turned out! I love the extra texture the burlap adds to the page and I love the beautiful crisp image that I managed to stamp!  

Next I wanted to try some of the “mysterious” Imaginisce milk paints (well, mysterious to me at least) and chose the yellow one. I shook a bit of the dry powder in a cup and added a bit of water (I used one part of powder on one part of water) and used a paint brush to stir it a bit, so the powder dissolved. Then I chose a Tim Holtz stencil and got started. I love love love how this turned out!!! It dried pretty quickly (I did use my heat tool a bit) and when I rubbed it afterwards it didn’t come off or anything! It’s awesome!

A while ago a magazine asked me to scrap a layout with a “bold line of embellishments”. This threw me a bit, as I had never done this before. But of course I gave it a try and I really loved the result! So when I saw the many fabulous die-cuts and stickers in this collection I knew straight away what I was going to do: create a layout with a “bold line of embellishments”! Apart from the die-cuts and stickers provided, I also created a couple of brads myself (using Imaginisce’s awesome I-Top tool) as I just wanted to use more of those awesome “b-side” designs. I’m in love the with black and white chequered paper! I really love the end result and I can’t wait to hear what you think of it!

Made with Love

We've got another gorgeous layout to share with you today using the new Family Fun collection!

I absolutely loved the Family Fun collection. So many fun possibilities! I was also a little worried though, I am not much of a theme scrapper, and I wasn't sure how I was going to make this work for my style.

I had some older photos that I hadn't scrapped yet of my daughters and a gingerbread man they decorated a few Christmases back...I thought they would be perfect to use with the baking themed products from this line!

I loved the Made With Love patterned paper in this collection, and knew I wanted to use it for a larger area of my layout, I didn't want it to over power the rest of the layout with its busy pattern, so I used it to block a section on my layout. It helped to bring in color and pattern, and also gave some depth to my layout when I layered it in with a few other papers.

The "Made With Love" sticker was the perfect title for this layout...and the gingerbread man is the actual gingerbread man my girls decorated...I simply scaled down and fussy cut the photo to use as an embellishment.

Then, I just clustered in a few of the fun icon sticker and enamel dots to draw some interest to my smaller photo. The word phrases on here, I cut from the branding strip on the Made With Love pattern paper.

This is such a fun collection to play with, and I think it was perfect for me to use to get my feet wet on using more themed product. Can't wait to pull it out again for another fun layout!!

'Busy Box'

How many of you are planning a road trip around Thanksgiving or Christmas? Do you need ideas for keeping your little ones entertained?  Maybe hear, "Are we there yet?"  a little less. Well I've got a great idea for you. I put together a busy box. 

I decorated my box with paper and die cuts from the Family Fun collection. It's about a 9"x9" tin. 

This box can hold plenty of snacks, games, crayons... I decided to make some magnetic dolls to put inside mine with the Family Fun die cuts. Since my box is actually a tin I am upcycling, so the magnets will stick right to it!. To create the magnets, I ran the dolls and accessories I chose through my 9" Creative Station with a Laminate Magnet cartridge inside. 

I chose accessories that were not too small so their little fingers would not get too frustrated, lol. Then I cut the pieces out. 

Since the Safari hat had a slit cut in it for the doll head, I used my Clicut to cut through the laminate and magnetic sheets. The Clicut is one of the newer tools for Imaginisce. It's a retractable pen knife. Make sure to use it with a self healing mat so as not to cut into your table top.

I organized my box with the girl doll and accessories on the inside of the lid and the boy doll and his accessories on the bottom of my tin. They can be moved around easily and dressed and undressed. I may need to add some of those adorable zoo animal die cuts to my busy box. 

To add to the creativity, I got a small dry erase board. The magnets will stick to this board too! and Did you know you can get dry erase crayons? No tops to get lost! No mess if they happen to fall out of little hands! Where were these when my kids were little! They work great and can be stowed away inside the busy box!
