Happy Canada Day!

It seems fitting that we share some other celebrations this week as our friends up north are celebrating a special day today.
It's Canada Day - lots of red & white, maple leafs, parades, festivities, fireworks and fun will be had!

Just a little bit of info on what Canada Day is about (in case you didn't know :))
Canada Day celebrates the birthday of Canada. On July 1, 1867 Canada became a new federation with its own constitution by signing the Constitution Act - formerly known as the British North America Act.

Today one of our Canadian design team members is sharing a project with us in honour of this federal holiday.

Happy Canada Day

For today's project I wanted to share a Canada day Card that I made!  I am actually going to use it as a table decoration for our big Canada party this year and it was really simple to make! Using my maple leaf punch I punched out 12 leaves and placed them in the middle of card. I topped it off with a die cut heart and of course the sentiment!

Grandpa's are the Best!

If we're honouring Dads then we're also celebrating Grandpa's right?
That's what Jodi has done with this fabulous layout!

Grandpas's are the Best

I wanted to do a new twist on a Fathers Day Theme project, so I decided to create a layout for my Dad.  He is such an amazing Grandpa, and my kids have so much fun when they are around him! This photo on the layout is one that I took last summer with him giving tractor rides for Taylor!  Here is the layout

I decided to really accent the photo by adding a bling border at the top:

The journaling reads:

And finally I punched out three red hearts and I decided to use the negative space of the red hearts on the layout as well:

Little Princess

Well, we hope that you enjoyed this sketch week as much as our DT did!!  I'm sure we'll be challenging them again with another sketch.

It's always fun to see the variety of interpretations, the colours & patterns that crafters use and the variety of ways in which a sketch can be used.

Once again, here's the sketch that our DT used this past week.

I Love You Little Princess

I adored this new collection, and I couldn't wait to use it! The sketch was perfect!

Instead of just plain triangles, I added some texture to the triangles by adding punched hearts in the same color! I love the look of this!

Supplies:
Imaginisce: Little Princess Diecuts, Patterned Paper, Buttons
American Crafts: Letter Stickers, Twine

Thanks for joining us this past week.
We hope that you enjoyed the sketch inspiration!

A Mother's Day layout

Scrapbooking layouts about our moms is a wonderful way to remember them and the many things that they did for us & the ways they showed their love.
If you're a mom it's also a great idea to create layouts about yourself and what being a mom means to you.

Mom X's Three layout

Happy soon to be Mothers Day to all the mommy's out there!  The inspiration for this layout came from looking through LOTS of photos! I came up with the idea of a baby photo of each of my kids, and I LOVE to compare how similar, yet different they all were!

I fussy cut many of the butterflies from the Welcome Spring Collection to use as embellishments. I popped up the odd one to create a fun, dimensional border:

I love using all the different die cuts in this collection, and I love to cut them up more and layer them!  If you noticed, I also used a yellow butterfly near my title. This butterfly is made up of two half butterflies that I fussy cut and then adhered together to create a whole butterfly! I love that pop of yellow!

I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Sweet Baby

ddddd

Sweet Baby

I simply adore this baby line that Imaginisce has come out with this season! For this layout I really wanted to make my sweet baby Taylor the focus of the layout, so I started with a main photo as the focal point.  I then wanted to focus on her little feet, because who doesn't love tiny, baby feet?  I thought the I-top tool would be perfect for making a brad-focused line of embellishments and photos all mixed into one:

I wanted to add some hearts to the layout, because they fit the theme of the layout perfectly. I added smaller punched out hearts, coming out of the die-cut elephants trunks and then I sewed (as best as I could)  down the center of the medium punched out hearts along the edges:

If you need to catch up on some baby layouts, or have a little one you want to scrap for now, this line is PERFECT, and so sweet for the little sweet girl!

Thanks for letting me share today!

Scraplifting madness!

We have some more incredible 'scrap lifting' ideas for you today. Check it out!

"Super Star"

I was inspired by the design of Jodi's 'Snow Kisses' Layout.

So, I changed up the color combo and the theme, and changed it a bit to fit my 8.5x11 page.  There are a couple of things I normally do to convert a 12x12 design to 8.5x11.

One option is to eliminate any white space, another is to make my page horizontal...or both as I did here.

Supply List:
Imaginisce: Patterned Papers (Welcome Spring: Dainty Floral, Flying Colors; Perfect Vacation: Pack it Up, Anywhere you Go); i-Top Tool, 22 mm brads, i-Rock Tool,
American Crafts: White Cardstock, Neutrals Cardstock, Black Honey Thickers, Knock Out Border Punch

"This Boy That Girl"

There are so many talented designers on the team to scraplift, that it was hard to choose! I have always admired Becki Adam's style for a long time, so I decided to lift one of her recent layouts!  I came across a layout, that I loved because it was almost like two layouts in one! I thought this would be super cool to combine a couple new collections by Imaginisce to create this look:

Some detailed shots of the layout:

And here is Becki's layout that I lifted (Thanks Becki!)

Valentine's Day Kids Crafts

What child would not want to receive a treat box filled with yummy candy?
Check out this cute little box!

*******

Owl Treat Box

Hi Imaginisce fans! Today I am sharing with you a kids craft that I am going to make in my homedaycare. In the past we usually decorate paper brown bags, but this year we are going to step it up a notch and create some fun treat boxes!  Here is the cute Owl Treat Box that I made with the Love You More Collection:

Step One:  Find a box in your recycling bin- I used an ego box, but this craft can be done with any similar sized box.

Step Two: Measure all sides of the box and precut the same patterned paper for each side. Have the kids glue the paper to each side. It doesn't matter if its not perfect as the Washi tape from this collection will help it look "perfect".

Step Three: Add some Washi Tape to cover each side of the box. The kids may need help with this step.

Step Four: You can use scalloped border stickers for the Love You More Collection (like I did) or you can precut four borders from the knock out border punches by American Crafts.

Step Five: Add a strip of double sided tape to the top of the box (where there is an opening for the valentines). Have the kids place little strips of American Crafts Twine to create hair for the Owl.  Add another strip of double sided tape and have them add a bunch of pre-punched small little hearts across the top to cover up any double sided tape.

Step Six:  Precut (or pre punch) Owl pieces ahead of time to make assembly easier for little kids. I cut different sized circles for the eyes  (I used different patterned paper, white cardstock and black cardstock) and two different shaped hearts for the nose and a large circle cut in half for the wings. Assemble as shown.

Step Seven:  Create a bow for the Owl if your kids would like a girl owl. Use the  Tazzel Glitter Tape to create the bow and add foam dots in the middle with two shaped hearts. Adhere to the Owl.

I hope you enjoyed the Kids Craft Tutorial! I am sure your kids will love making these!  Happy Valentines day!

We hope so.

Snow Kisses

This winter challenge was so much fun! I love combining collections, in order to get the right color combo and feel on a layout. For this layout I combined THREE of Imaginisce’s older collections, and they worked together perfectly to create a fun winter layout!

Final DT Introductions

Today brings us to our final day of introductions for our 2014 Design Team.

******

Hi I am Guiseppa, not only do I have a love for paper crafting, but I  am addicted to Zumba.  I recently became an instructor.  I love dance.  My mother put me into dance when I was 3 years old and I danced up until I married my husband,   So, it only seemed fitting that I used my dance training to do Zumba!  I get to dance and stay in shape doing it.
I have been married to my number one supporter Sam for nearly 16 years now and we have 3 children; Braden 17, Janica 15 and our little Angel Sterling passed away nearly nine years ago from "The Bubble Boy Disease."  Never has scrapbooking meant so much to me as when he passed away.  I have all those wonderful memories of him preserved through scrapbooking. I have been published in several scrapbooking magazines and have had the privileged of designing for multiple manufacturers, including Imaginisce.  When I am not scrapboooking, I enjoy spending time with my family.  You can often find us in the mountains camping, hiking, fishing and exploring on out 4 wheeler.  I also enjoy reading and traveling.

Hi everyone! I’m so very happy Imaginisce wants to have me design for them for another year! I really love their products and now I get to play with them for another year! Here’s a bit about me: my name is Monique Liedtke and I live in The Netherlands together with my husband of 17 years and 3 wonderful kids: 1 daughter (Manon, 17) and 2 sons (Timothy, 14 and Mats, 9) and one super cute Cocker Spaniel (Jippie). It will be no surprise that they are the main focus of my scrapbook pages. I started scrapbooking about 10 years ago and am totally addicted! I scrap almost every free minute I have!! My other hobbies are reading, cycling, knitting, watching English detectives, travelling and walking. I work in a little HR office in town for 15 hours a week, which I love to do too. The reason I scrapbook is because I just can't think of anything more fun to do! My scrapbooking style consists generally of straight lines for the base, with lots of whimsical touches, fun embellishments and machine stitching; I love to use as many colors, designs and details in my projects as possible. My favorite techniques are sewing (with the sewing machine and by hand) and layering and I love trying out new techniques. I love to create everything, from layouts to cards to mini albums to home décor, but creating layouts is what I do most.
Here are a few of my favorite Imaginisce projects. For more projects please visit my blog: www.moniquesscrapbook.blogspot.nl.

My name is Sara Zenger.  I live in northern NY with my husband, our 9 yr old son and 2 yr old dog. I am so excited to be returning to the Imaginisce team for 2014!

My style changes depending on my photos and the products I am working with. I love layouts that have white space and unique design! My go to stash of scrapbooking supplies include foam tape/ pop dots for dimension, white and kraft cardstock because it goes with everything and punches because they work on every layout and every time you use them it can look unique!

I love making layouts, cards and other paper craft projects.  I feel the need to make a new banner for each approaching holiday and I adore decorating my own gift bags!

I am excited to see the new products Imaginisce has for 2014, I know they will be awesome!

My name is Jodi Wilton, and I live in Fonthill, Ontario, Canada.  I have been married to my husband for 10 years, and have three wonderful kids (my main scrappy subjects!).  I have the pleasure of running my own daycare from my home, and have been doing this for over 7 years.  Some of my favorite things to do is scrapbooking (of course!),  going to the movies, and when time and energy permits- going to the gym!
I first got interested in scrapping when I worked on a cruise ship. I wanted a way to document my travels, and the millions of photos that I was taking! Ever since then, I was hooked! My style is always evolving but I love color and cute designs! I describe my style as simple, clean lines with a hint of whimsy in there too.  I am so honored to back on the Imaginisce Design Team for another fabulous year! I hope to inspire and be inspired!

Jodi's Work:

Hi! First of all, I am super excited and honored to be a part of Imaginisce team for a second term!! A little bit about me...I am happily married to the love of my life Chad and I’m blessed to be a stay-at-home mom to 3 awesome kids: Chris, Joshua, and Gracie.  I love scrapbooking because it is a stress reliever and a joy for me.  I have been scrapbooking since 1995 but my love of paper crafts started when I was little. I always had a stash of construction paper, stickers (lots of stickers!), scissors, and glue lying around. I still have my sticker albums which I treasure to this day! When I’m not scrapbooking my other passions are photography, cooking, volunteering at my kid’s school and having lots of fun playing with my family.

Hello! My name is Marcia Dehn-Nix. I am married to the most wonderful guy and we live in Minnesota (where winters are way too long and summers are way too short!). We have three kids. Our oldest just finished college and recently got engaged! I have been scrapbooking for about 15 years. My scrapbooking evolved out of a love for photography. In fact, I used to be a wedding photographer! I do have a 9-5 job working as a software engineer creating software for electrical utilities.  Besides my love for paper crafting, I have a soft side when it comes to cute, furry animals.  My family fosters kittens and puppies on occasion for a local rescue.  Currently in residence is the family dog Stachel, and 3 cats; Delta (a stray my hubby brought home from the airport on Christmas Eve a few years ago), Spook (a former foster kitty of mine that I could not part with), and Xena (my latest stray acquisition).

I am excited to be a part of this awesome design team!

Suzanna Lee

Hi there, Suzanna here! Again! I am honored to have been invited back for another year with Imaginisce! My husband and I have been married 14 years and are looking forward to many more decades to come! We have two children, Nikolas age 11 and Mia age 7. We have a cat (who thinks she's a dog) named Belle. These 4 are the prime targets of my pictures and thus my scrapbooks. When not hiding behind a camera or scrapping, I work part-time as an outpatient orthopedic Physical Therapist or carting kids back and forth to the pool! Somebody has to provide the financial support their swimming and my growing stash! I look forward to another great year with Imaginisce and getting to know the new ladies that are joining us this year!

(Design Team Coordinator)

Hi there! My name is Cari and I live with my hubby and our three kids in British Columbia, Canada. I began scrapbooking when I was young but really got into in 1997.  I have always loved photography so this was a great way for me to showcase my photos and share the stories that went along with them.  I have always had a love for crafty things. I'm fortunate to have had my work published in numerous scrapbooking magazines and have had the privilege of designing for a number of scrapbooking manufacturers over the past several years.

I am thrilled to be a part of such an awesome company once again and working at the DT Coordinator for such a fabulous group of talented designers just makes my job so much fun!
